Can you believe I actually did a DIY project? I’m surprised myself. But every now and then I do have an inspiration and I attempt to carry it out.
Our basement bathroom had a mirror in it. This mirror had a goldish frame and I wouldn’t say it was my favorite. I didn’t necessarily like it with the rest of my bathroom stuff. I hadn’t had time or taken time to shop for something else, nor did I really want to spend money on something else at this particular time. And on some things I like to wait until something jumps out at me as the exact thing I want for a certain spot or as something that I love.
I forgot to take a before picture until after I started painting!
So, the mirror had just been hanging there. Now and then I would glance at it and reflect on the idea to eventually change it to another mirror or cupboard. One day it hit me. “Paint it.” Aha. I am a little slow like that.
Definitely a brilliant idea. Spray paint has come to my rescue before, let’s try it again. While it wasn’t Annie Sloan Chalk Paint or Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint and it wasn’t an awesome DIY project like my sister is so good at, it gave me a quick fix for now(and for a good while).
And I like it much better. And it makes me happy when I look at it. Are you like that? Do you have things in your house, that while there is absolutely nothing wrong with them, you just don’t love them? I’m very that way. I’m not a certified interior decorator, but when it comes to my home, I like filling it with things that I love. No one else has to love them or even like them, but if I do, I’m good.
So there you have it. Spray paint and improved. And even a claim to a DIY project!
Since I didn’t remember before pictures until I was painting, I don’t have a before picture of the mirror on the wall. Ah, well.
One more picture.
What’s something in your home right now that you don’t love and would change or replace if it was as easy as typing this sentence?
Me? Well, I have this upstairs rug……..

Oh! and a rug is a little harder to quick fix! 🙁 and a lot harder to replace economically. BTW, I am the QUEEN of spray paint! I am too impatient to paint w/ the cooler options! 🙂 My husband is always a little nervous about what is going to get a “new outfit” next!
I like to get things done quickly too! At least spray paint is inexpensive! 🙂
Yeah, I don’t think spray paint is the answer for my large rug. I hope to replace it sometime…..
Oh, I like the new look. It’s not so much changing something in my house, it’s doing some things I’ve thought about for some time. Like putting scripture verses on some of the walls and looking for a peice of furniture I’m wanting to showcase some quilts. Why don’t I just get it done!!??
Well, but you do have to find the right thing and sometimes that isn’t super easy or the store you want to shop isn’t close by!
I like! I want new furniture – and I want to know exactly what I really want my end results with furniture to look like!

I agree. Since we moved I have been slow on putting up stuff, because I want things I truly like. I hung some of my pictures that I still really love. I don’t want to spend money just to be getting something. That’s one thing I have learned after having my own home for 15 years! 🙂
Amazing what paint can do, huh? Like my Mom always says, “paint covers all!” Maybe thats why we paint everytime she comes out. 😉 Look’n good!
I like your Mom’s motto! I need her to just come to my house!
Great job – love that shower curtain!

I like my shower curtain too! Obviously.
I bought it a few years ago for our bathroom at our old house. Thanks to Target!
I was glad to have a place to still use it when we moved.
