A while back I mentioned winning a giveaway of a tintype over at The Modern Mrs. Darcy’s blog.
I was and still am excited that I actually won! I took some time deciding {and debating and hashing over} what photo I wanted printed. {I think my husband thought I was a bit crazy.} {He’s had more than one opportunity to think that over the years.} {But at least this keeps him from getting bored.} {I’m so helpful like that.}
I knew I wanted a photo of my kids and one from days gone by. I love old photos. There are so many things I would forget about, if it weren’t for pictures. Once I decided on the photo, I submitted it at Josiah Morgan and placed my order using the free code for my tintype. Then I waited for it to arrive.
I received an e-mail that my package was on its way, so I waited more eagerly and watched for a package!
When the package with Josiah Morgan’s name on it showed up in my mailbox, I pounced on it and opened it quickly.
I found not one tintype, but two!
Apparently, the first one didn’t quite meet Josiah’s expectations, so he printed another one and sent them both to us. I was duly impressed, to say the least. For one, the first one was great. Second, as if I was going to know any different. Third, it was a giveaway! I won it.
I’ve always loved good customer service and I’d say this certainly fits the bill. I also think good customer service is losing out in many ways today. I realize part of that is because of the trend for everything to be about me and to fall into the trap of becoming a demanding, impolite customer. I’ve seen both sides when dealing with people. I’ve seen wonderful customers and customers that are outright lying.
As a customer I try hard to use manners, smile and be polite, but I can think of some times when I was seriously annoyed with a situation and failed at reacting in a positive way.
{Ok, lesson on customer actions over.} 🙂
All that to say, I really love my tintypes and I really love good customer service and people who love their products and care about producing the best they can.
If you’re in the market for a tintype, go check out Josiah Morgan’s website and work. You can find posts of their work over here on their blog. And you can follow them on fb here!
Thanks for my great tintypes! I love having them tucked into my home. I was so happy to win. And thanks to Modern Mrs. Darcy for hosting the giveaway for me to enter!
