I’m always glad to be inspired by a recipe suggestion from a friend or family or a magazine or well, anywhere!
One of my friends recently mentioned this recipe as one they really liked when we were discussing the chicken breasts that our local Dillon’s had had on sale. So when I requested the recipe she kindly shared it with me.
My friend said she makes the marinade and puts it on the chicken breasts and pops it all in the freezer until she’s ready to get them out for her husband to grill. I have been wanting to put some food in the freezer anyway, so I was excited to give this a whirl. I had enough chicken to broil some for our lunch and put a bag in the freezer.
The recipe for the marinade is:
1 cup mayonnaise 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dried minced onion 1/4 cup vinegar Mix all together and place approximately 3 pounds of chicken breasts in to marinate! I think you could stretch it farther depending how thickly you want it covered as it marinates.
Super easy and super yummy! Definitely my kind of cooking!
I am linking up over here on one of Money Saving Mom’s, Four Weeks to Fill Your Freezer posts!
Perfect, I picked up {ahem} several bags of chicken tenders a while ago when they were severely marked down. Been looking for a new marinade. I would imagine the mayo would keep these nice and moist.
I will have to try this. It sounds easy, frugal, and yummy. Thanks for sharing.
I think we might have gotten something like this at food swap once. Will have to add that to one of my weekly menus soon!
Looks like perfect for me and my family.. My kids love chicken breasts too and for sure this is a help.. Thanks!
