Today, I’m putting up pictures of some of the fun things my kiddos enjoyed while we were in the east. They played and imagined hard, most of the time we were there. They did get some sleep, though we never seemed to manage to go to bed very early.
We spent an evening with my cousin and her family. They got their steam engine out, had a delicious cook-out supper for us, and made homemade ice cream. The kids had a wonderful time running and playing outside. The weather was lovely.
Grandpa has gourds growing in his garden. The grandchildren raided the patch and had a fantastic time carving out gourds and making them into containers. Then, they had even more fun playing around Grandpa’s little pond with the gourds and pretending, pretending, pretending. They dug mud out of the bottom of the pond and formed cookies and loaves of bread. They let the mud harden and we were then, offered bread to eat. They were delighted to break off a “chunk” of bread for us. The nature of the bread was rather dark and course. 🙂
I think it definitely sums it up to say:
A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!!

Family get togethers are the best! And I love the pictures of the kids in front of the barn. Very cool!
Family time is definitely special time. I count my blessings to have a family that can get together!
And now we are left with memory’s sweet glow! Your pictures are fantastic. I just want to say, “Let’s do it again!”
You can never grasp the moment quite long enough or tight enough……
Awesome pics! I want some of them! I didn’t have my camera to take pics of the pond play and I didn’t get some of the angles you did of the kids by the barn. So glad you were all here in the summer again! It had been too long!
I’m glad we got to come in the summertime again, too. I will have to e-mail you some photos. *adding to my remember-to-do-list…
Fun times indeed! I remember spending time on that porch =) Thanks for always being a faithful commenter! {hugs}
Ahhh, memories! Time flows by so swiftly, especially as I get older.
