Update:The winner of the giveaway was Danita! Hooray!
Hello Monday!
Hello Giveaway!
Darby Dugger blessed me by sending me her book For the Love of Our Husbands. She also kindly offered to give one book to one of my readers. Thank-you, Darby! I was thrilled when she made the offer, because I knew that I have readers who would definitely enjoy this book.
This book is written in the format of fifty-two weeks. Each week includes a challenge section, a prayer for yourself, as a godly wife, and a prayer for you to pray for your man every day of that week. Each chapter or week is a couple of pages long.
This book became a book from a resolution Darby made. She decided to become more dedicated to praying for her husband and to pray very specifically every day for him. She e-mailed a small group of friends asking them to join her in her resolution and to help hold her accountable. Darby, then, decided to send out a weekly e-mail with a challenge that would help her improve as a wife and a prayer to pray, each day that week, for her husband, Jason. Her small group of friends quickly grew from a few to around one hundred women receiving the weekly e-mail. From this, it grew into a book containing Darby’s collection of e-mails, to help inspire other women to take the challenge and pray for their husbands.
As I said in this post, I enjoy reading books which inspire me and motivate me. I am very much enjoying For the Love of Our Husbands. It is my kind of book! I like books that I can pick up and read for a few minutes, yet come away with much to think about. Plus, I am definitely a fan of strengthening marriages. A great marriage takes work, commitment and prayer. Satan wants to destroy our marriages and that just makes me furious. I want to be equipped with the armor of God having the sword of the Spirit by my side and I want to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” I want to fight back for my husband and my marriage.
This book would make a neat addition to a shower gift for a bride-to-be or with a baby gift for a new mother! I remember rocking my tiny, baby daughter and reading a book. She wanted held a lot the first few weeks she was in this world.
If you would love a chance to win Darby’s book, just leave a comment on this post. Tell me about a book on marriage that is on your bookshelf or on your favorites list or simply say, “I want to win!” or “I love to read!” or anything else that comes to mind.
If you want to give a shout-out on facebook or twitter about the giveaway, Darby and I would be grateful.

And Hello to another week and farewell to a hectic, busy, everything-hit-at-the-same-time week!

Hello kitchen cupboard installation! I’m so glad you arrived.
Hello cooking and cutting corn for the freezer! Such a big job, but such a big blessing. I am happy to open my freezer and see the bags of frozen corn.
Hello rolls of tape, waiting, in my son’s desk drawer, to be used! I am still chuckling over you. I gave each of my kiddos three rolls of tape to keep in their desk drawers. When I opened my son’s desk a little later, I had the best laugh on finding that he had all of his rolls ready to rock-and-roll! It so fits his personality and love of tape!
Hello to a couple of great blog posts that I read over the weekend.
The 1 Thing You Really Have to Know About Your Family
I love books on marriage, too, Deborah! I think my all time favorite is still “Power of a praying wife” ~ very convicting! I also really like the Five Love Languages, as that motivated me to find out how my honey really feels blessed and loved by me.
Anxious to find this book (IF I don’t win it, of course ;})
Sounds like a great book!!!
I love to read AND I want to win :o) I have a list of scriptures and God’s promises I pray over my husband but unfortunately I have better intentions than follow-through :o)

I could use this book!
I know a few have mentioned this already but God truly changed who I am as a wife by reading ” The Power of a Praying Wife” SEVERAL years ago. That being said, He uses different circumstances or tools, at different times, for different people.
I’d love to win this book!
Thank you for this post! Praying for my husband is something I’ve been making a greater priority lately. It’s a timely topic for me. Visiting today from the Domestically Divine link-up!

I know Darby Dugger and she is the REAL DEAL! She didn’t just write a book to preach to others. She actually practices what she preaches and walks it out every day. The book is definitely a must have on your bookshelf! I’d love to win it cause’ winning stuff is fun but I want to say that whoever wins it will be blessed and if you don’t win it – buy it! And then read it. And do it. Pray for your husband every day. Start now- even before the book. He needs your prayers.
I love to read and especially books on marriage. I am blessed with a wonderful husband and I am always looking for more ways to be a blessing to him.
I would love to have this book! I have recently really given EVERYTHING in my life to God and he has blessed me with a joy I have never seen before. I am currently married to an unbeliever and almost walked away completely. After some major soul searching I realized that God calls us Christian women to honor our husbands and give everything to Jesus. I am in it for the long haul and have found much encouragement lately in the books by Gary Smalley “A Joy That Lasts” and “Winning your Husband Back Before it’s Too Late” both really encouraging reads.
