Good Rice.
That’s the name of this recipe. Because…. it’s good.
It is.
And so simple!! The only unfortunate thing is that while my man loves this recipe and eats it heartily, neither one of my kiddos are particularly fond of rice.
They may like it someday. They both eat lots of foods they didn’t used too. Me too. I was a very picky kid. Not nearly as much now, as I was then.
Here’s the recipe! Get your oven baking!
Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 3 chicken bouillon cubes or 2-3 T chicken base
- minced onion
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- parsley, optional
- 3 cups water
Instructions
Place rice in an 11x7 or 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle with minced onion, bouillon and seasonings.
Slice or chunk up butter over rice. Sprinkle with parsley.
Add water.
Cover tightly.
Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until rice is tender.

Mmm, sounds delicious. I have a recipe similar to this but it uses beef broth and we add bell peppers. Delicious and simple. π
Thank you for sharing with Thoughts of Home Thursday. We are really glad to have you. Pinning.s
That sounds good, too!
We are rice and quinoa fans so this recipe will be perfect for both of these side dishes!
I love to infuse these bland but healthy dishes with different goodies too:)
I am a fan of organic vegetable broth to add flavor to mine.
Thank you so much for joining us in Thoughts Of Home!
Quick and easy! All the ingredients are things I already have at home, too. How does it reheat?
I think it reheats very well. It gets ate up around here, anyway! π
