I love finding recipes that my family gobbles up!
These breadsticks are so, so yummy! There’s lots of butter involved, so you really can’t go wrong.
Last year, when we were in the midst of working on our house and painting and moving, my friend brought us cheesy spaghetti, these breadsticks, and brownies for our supper one evening.
She shared the recipe with me and I’ve used it quite a few times since. I enjoy making breads. I love eating fresh-baked breads, so I think that’s part of it…..
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 T. yeast
- 1 T. sugar
- 1 T. oil
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- Topping:
- 1 stick butter, melted
- garlic salt
Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
Add in the rest of the ingredients, except for the topping ingredients, mixing well.
Let rise until double.
Roll out in a rectangle approximately the size of a 9x13 baking dish. Cut into strips.
Pour half of the melted butter in the bottom of a 9x13. Transfer strips to dish. Pour the rest of the melted butter on top and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Let rise about an hour.
Bake at 400 for 12 to 15 minutes.
Eat while warm and fresh!!!
Notes
The original recipe says to dip the strips in butter and to only let them rise 15 minutes. It's much easier to pour the butter on and I think they're better if you let them raise longer. If you are short of time, you can get away with less raising time.
I like to use some whole-wheat flour sometimes too. Yummy!
Mmmmmm…..
I’m a little hungry as I’m typing this, so these are looking pretty tasty right now!!
Do you have a favorite breadstick recipe?

I think this is my favorite breadstick recipe. Especially when you fix them! 😉 We’ve tried using less butter, but they’re not quite as good.
Butter makes everything better! 🙂 There is a lot in this recipe and it kind of soaks down in and makes for yummy breadsticks!
These look delicious, just been looking for a garlic breadstick recipe and this is perfect, all the family are sure to love them!
