Dear Mom and Dad,
If you were here we could….
sit on the front porch and drink iced tea or lemonade if there was some lemonade made and if my small son hadn’t drunk it all. We could….
look at the wheat and chat about this and that and catch up on things that you miss out on and miss telling each other in phone calls and texts and e-mails. Real life chatting is more fun, even though I’m glad for media. We could laugh and we would remember other trips and things we did. We would wonder how my children have grown so much.
If you were here I would show you…
my hanging pots and flowers. We would walk around outside and show you…
the kittens! They are growing quickly and are so cute and playful.
And, of course, Cooper. He would be glad to jump on you. How can cute and annoying be so wrapped up together?
If you were here, I would show you my roses…
We would walk out to the garden….
and if you were lucky, you MIGHT….
see a monkey!!!
We could go check irrigation systems, OR just let my farmer man have that job.
We would go eat at the south Mexican restaurant and we would make Baked Smores. We would walk over to the farm and look at the place our old house used to be and talk about how hot or cold it was and reminisce about the way our place looked when we moved there. We would go over to Jordan’s and look at his yard and the work he’s been doing and talk about his fence. We would talk about your front porch and look at the pictures you bring of it and say that we need to come out there. We would hear news about the girls and Jill and Travis and we would say we miss them. We would get together with friends and laugh and laugh. We would eat snacks and be glad we were together. We would cook in my kitchen and gather around our kitchen table. We would show you Lego creations and knitting and projects. We would play games and have ice cream.
Dear Mom and Dad~If you were here we would do these things!
But until then, we will be thankful that we are family and that we have family and that we can travel and that we do get to travel and we can see each other and we have e-mail and blogs and photos and phones. We will be thankful!
Love you, Mom and Dad!
Join us for Gratituesday at Heavenly Homemakers!

And, Lord willing, we will do those things! Meanwhile we will enjoy these pictures and words from you and thank Abba Father for the blessings of family. Your porch looks as though it is saying, “Come sit a spell and soak up the blessings God is sending your way.” God watch between you and me until we meet again.
I told Mom they should just head out! Of course I’d probably hope to smuggle 3 little munchkins in with them because I feel bad that the munchkins parents probably aren’t going to have time to bring them out to see their cousins this summer 🙁 I’m missing the water parks already.
