I’m standing at the cross roads
I look to left, then right. I look right out in front of me. I cast a glance behind.
Crossroads mean decisions. Choices must be made. Wisdom and discernment ~ {to firmly} guide my way.
Wisdom for direction, to bring answers to the light. Wisdom in my weakness, as I stumble in the night.
Discernment needs to flourish, {growing} lush and green and true, Watered with the Word and Prayer, Wisdom in it too.
While weeds of lies are sprayed and wilted, Killed. Dead, through and through.
Plucked from the ground when e’re they sprout, deceivers of what’s true.
Which way to go? Which way is best? Is there a way to tell? What guides my feet, my heart, my mind? I want to live life well.
I want to have a steadfast heart. A bedrock to the core. Clinging to my Jesus King.
On stormy sea or shore.
When thunder rumbles in the west and winds begin to blow,
I want to tuck against His side, Safe from fears and foe!
When crossroads come, and crossroads will!! And questions rise anew,
There’s Someone near, who always hears, His ear is bent towards you!
A great high priest! Ascended high! Jesus! God’s only Son. Hold firm to faith with steady grip, He hears your every groan.
He doesn’t scorn or turn His back, He understands my friend,
Our every weakness He can see. Yet blots out every sin.
He’s been right there. Right in our shoes. Tempted, lost, deceived.
He understands as no one can,
He knows our every need.
He knows confusing crossroads, He’s walked this earth in skin,
Tempted just as we are,
Full of empathy within!
Blamed, completely blameless, Accused, but guiltless stands,
No sin in Him, All pure within, Nail scars in His hands.
Mercy flows from all around, Grace mingles beautifully.
Can we approach with confidence? He smiles right at me!!
Light bounces off God’s throne of grace, It shimmers, circles, gleams,
It beckons me with open arms and says, “Bring every need!!!”
“Bring every need? Oh, can it be? BUT, do You really see???? I am so weak, I fail a LOT, And crossroads confuse me.”
“I ask a lot of questions. I FORGET to pray. I don’t want to be a bother…..
Are you SURE that it’s okay??”
“I’m not very confident. I lean towards insecure. I know I’m who God says I am. But sometimes the lies they roar.”
They roar like Daniel’s lions, but their mouths are open wide. They show their teeth. They snarl and growl. They make me quake inside!! Circling to devour, Blocking off the Mighty Throne, But here’s the thing, We’ll call their bluff!!! We KNOW the Mighty King. The King that sits upon the throne. Our Father, Abba, Lord. We call to Him. Those lions lose. Slain by the Living Word.
Oh lions loud, mistake you made, you chose to pick a fight, against a foe you did not know, of Majesty and Might. You launched attack, on front, on back, of a child who’s adored, No Father of Unending Love will let that go ignored.
The active Word. It is alive!! And sharper than a sword. A double-edged one at that. Made from solid gold.
Now lions lie defeated. Lies, they can not stand. My gracious God looks over, He reaches out His hand. Boldly, I step forward. I never need to doubt. My God has got this covered. From inside right to out.
Cross roads don’t confuse Him. He knows which way to take. He knows me too. He knows my heart. He never will forsake.
We have an open invitation!!! As children of the King. Approach the throne with confidence. For help in every need!

Hebrews 4:12-16
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Yes. This. This morning. Oh what a battle has been raging. But our King Jesus has already won. It is His battle, and we are His!
Thank you for these life-giving words.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul, all your MIND and all your strength. AMEN😊
Bless you! As always!!
I believe in His faithfulness to my core, yet I still need times of refreshing and reminding and setting my feet more firmly on the Rock.
Thank you for this absolutely beautiful writing! I want to have a steadfast heart also!! As I face a frightening time with upcoming heart surgery I will hold firmly to my faith. What lovely and loving words you have shared. Such encouragement that I truly treasure.
Thank-you for your kind words. I’m glad it encouraged you. I’ve often been encouraged by other people’s words and inspiration and I’m grateful I can pass it on and bless someone else.
Prayers for you as you face surgery and unknowns and times of uncertainty. Praying God’s peace for you and that You feel His nearness.
Yes, indeed my friend! Your wise words were a balm to my soul. As I finally realized a long desired dream I am unsure of where my path will lead next. I am trying to be still and wait upon the Lord who wants the best for us. Of course, God’s timing is requiring patience on my part. I am spoiled I want the directions “RIGHT NOW”! But I know if I wait he will indeed direct my path. He truly does want the best for us.
Oh, don’t I know it???!! Patience is not my strong point. But I deeply believe in our God’s faithfulness, even when things don’t seem clear or are scary and hard.
So excited and happy for you!
