This was the vignette on my kitchen table this morning. My daughter commented on it looking like a picture, so I picked up my camera and took some pictures. And then edited out the jar-of-peanut-butter-with-the-red-lid that was in the edge of the picture! Photo editing is so handily handy.
I wished my table had some picturesque scene every morning, but it doesn’t. This is far from the norm. And not that I just want cinnamon rolls every morning, because I really don’t. I like cinnamon rolls, but I wouldn’t want them every morning. That would be too much for this girl. I just want the cleared off and pretty decor look, cause it makes me happy. But, in all reality, messiness has its happiness too, because it means that our house is lived in! And enjoyed.
I did, however, enjoy the pictures.
And yes, my husband and daughter like cinnamon rolls better without frosting. I’m pretty sure I will never understand why, but to each his or her own!
Back at the beginning of the year, I was looking for a covered butter dish. I did a few searches and the came across this darling butter dish on Amazon.
I guess really, that would be butter dishes!!
I have been so glad I purchased this set. It is about the right amount of butter for our family of four, to have on the counter so it will be soft. Approximately three tablespoons fits in it really well. You can fit half a stick in too, like I did below. I also have liked having two, so that when one is looking as if it needs a good washing, I can pull out the other one and fill it up.
Do you have a favorite purchase for your kitchen that you are so glad you have?!

I love your adorable butter dishes.
I like the butter dish I bought at Skaggs when I was out there. I also love the measuring cups you gave me from Skaggs. I really like all the Tag brand stuff I have. I need to do a blog post on some of it. In my spare time 🙂

Spare time. Uh huh. Yeah. I have LOTS of ideas that I want to blog, but it’s just the having the spare time and at the right time and the getting it done…
I’ve been wanting to put my butter dishes on ever since I got them. Finally did. And to think I just read a blogpost today about having a slower pace of life…and we don’t even do anything!!!
The thing I am planning to really like in my kitchen is the new wood flooring(when it is in place!). Love, love, love the pictures. I like for my table to look nice, too, but, alas, it seems to be the catchall too many times. When we have the flooring finished and everything back in its place, I am going to make a BIG effort to see that the mail, etc lands on the desk, not the kitchen table. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
I’m glad you could get that off your chest! 🙂
And I know what you mean! It seems that any flat, uncluttered surface just screams to have stuff dropped upon it…
Can’t wait for your wood flooring to get in!
I am beyond thrilled you posted about your butter dish, lol 🙂 I love this bc I have a “normal” one, and there is no place to wipe the extra butter off your knife without getting it all over the lid when you put the lid back on! It’s been driving me crazy for months. This one solves that problem. yay! Pet peeve #4,356 elminiated 🙂
I am very glad that I could help out in the elimination of your four thousand three hundred and fifty-sixth pet peeve!! 😉
