Cinnamon and Sparky.
The two baby calves on our farm right now.
So dubbed by our daughter.
They are pretty cute!
Our farm isn’t much of a livestock farm most of the time. We do have bottle calves fairly often that grow up to provide beef for our freezer.
And we have cats who have their springtime litters of kittens.
So far my kiddos have found two litters of kittens and we think that there is another one somewhere. One of our mama cats has the cutest kittens and she always hides them pretty well.
So with Frisky still here, the baby count on our farm would be:
1 baby lamb
2 baby calves
5 baby kittens (that we know about)
Baby animals surely are a really cute part of God’s creation!
Babies are such a cute way for life to start!
The calves are so cute, but OH that fourth picture is the greatest! Look at that smile!!!
So cute – but will you be eating these calves?? I’m all for eating beef but I’m not sure I could name them and then eat them!
My daughter would agree with you! She always names our calves and doesn’t like to think about where the beef in our freezer comes from. On a little more positive note, there is a good span of time between going from cute little calves to beef. By the time they’re full grown they aren’t nearly as special to my kiddos. It does seem a little strange, I’m sure!
I do certainly appreciate having beef in our freezer! 🙂
I love your pictures! And I’m with Beth- I don’t think I’d be able to eat something I’ve named, lol. Though having your own, fresh beef is awesome.
Pic #4 is my fav, too. And when did my grandson turn into that lanky young man who is getting taller all the time!? Would you give him a hug from me, please? That’s if he hasnt outgrown hugs!
He IS getting taller all the time! And he is starting to outgrow hugs. And I am just not sure about that AT ALL!
