Ingredients
- 2 cups All-Bran Cereal
- 2 tsp. Baking powder
- 2 cups boiling water
- In a large bowl (that has a lid) measure 2 cups of All-Bran. Sprinkle baking powder on top. Pour the boiling water over all. Let stand.
- Cream together:
- 1 1/8 cups shortening or butter
- 2 cups sugar
- Add:
- 4 beaten eggs
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 5 cups flour
- 3 tsp. salt
- 5 tsp. baking soda
- 4 cups All-Bran cereal
Instructions
Mix thoroughly and then pour this mixture into the bowl with your first mixture. Stir to combine. Store batter in a large tightly covered bowl in the refrigerator. Bake as needed but do not stir. This will keep up to 6 weeks in the refrigerator. Bake in muffin tins at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Slather with butter and enjoy!

My mother made these when I was growing up and I loved them. Now, I like to make them and I seem to have passed my love of them on to my kiddos!
