I get hungry for this yummy ice cream dessert every so often. Last week was my man’s birthday and I decided it would be a good time to make this.
July birthday+hot weather+a love of ice cream=celebrate with ice cream!
Ingredients
- 2 packages graham crackers
- 1 stick butter
- 3 bananas
- 1 gallon neopolitan ice cream
- 1 cup chopped peanuts
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 16 ounces Cool Whip
- Chop graham crackers into fine crumbs. Melt 1 stick of butter and combine. Spread graham cracker crust into the bottom of a large 11x15 pan.
- Slice {chop into small pieces} bananas and layer on top of crust.
- Dip ice cream on top of banana layer.
- Sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Freeze until firm.
- Melt chocolate chips and 1 stick butter. Add powdered sugar and evaporated milk. Cook for a few minutes until thick and smooth, stirring constantly. {It will still be runny. It doesn't thicken the way I would picture when the recipe says "thick and smooth". 🙂 }
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Cool.
- Pour on top of peanuts and freeze until frim.
- Top with Cool Whip.
- Freeze.
- Enjoy the flavors of Banana Split Ice Cream Dessert!
Notes
The banana pieces freeze pretty hard and can be hard to dip through. I would recommend chopping them into small pieces~which I always forget to do!
I forgot to get a picture of the Cool Whip on top, so you can use your imagination!

Oooh that looks amazing! Andy loves banana splits – I need to try this for him!
We think this is pretty tasty!! It is different than your typical banana split with chocolate, pineapple, and strawberry.
My husband always orders a banana split with all chocolate syrup~pineapple and strawberry topping aren’t for him! I’ve made this dessert for him before with just chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I like the strawberry in it though! 🙂
This looks terrific. Cannot wait to make this for our next party!
We really like it. It is a yummy combination!
