Eggs and flour and berries and butter.
Baking and creating from pie inspiration.
Outside it clouds up and begins to rain. And it is gorgeous!! The loveliest spring rain falling down on our still thirsty earth. The kitchen light gleams and the oven hums and it gives off cozy, warm heat. My window above my sink I leave cranked open a bit and the pitter-patter of the rain on the patio below is priceless and provides pretty music as it harmonizes with the oven’s song.
These are the moments worth bottling, if only I had the ability. But I possess it not.
So I savor while I can and I smile big when my gaze catches a glimpse outside of a certain son darting from tree to tree, running through the raindrops, staying out until he’s soaked, then slipping into the basement seeking the cozy, dry shelter it offers.
My candles flicker on the windowsill beside the open window. One of them, I notice, has reached its end. It slowly dies away, leaving a wispy trace of smoke to spiral up in the air.
Just like the moments I can’t capture and keep. They too, wisp away so quickly, leaving me with memories, and now and then, when I’m lucky, a photograph or three.
Ah, Life. Ah, Every Good Day.
Ah, refreshing rain and the washing anew you bring.
My heart spills gratitude this early eveningtide.

Deborah, I know this is going to be one beautiful pie. Your shapes are all so lovely and dainty.
I saw a pie on Instagram a while back that included lots of pretty floral shapes like this and I saved it for future reference. I’m eager to see how yours turns out because I’m going to take a crack at it too.
My pleasure to pop over and browse around.
Hope you have a wonderful week,
Lisa
Thank-you for your sweet words! I just made the pie today and plan to post pictures of it……..one of these days! 🙂
It was terribly fun to make. I was inspired by an Instagram picture of a beautiful pie as well. 🙂 I’ve been wanting to make one ever since. It was cool and cozy this afternoon and then the rain came and it just ended up becoming a perfect day for a pie project!
Such lovely thoughts to ponder. Thank you for joining Thoughts of Home on Thursday. This post truly delighted me.
