I spent a little bit of time reworking this corner of my kitchen and later I had a few minutes and picked up my camera and took a few photos.
I thought I might stick one of the photos in my Memoir Monday post, but I liked them all and I thought “Hey, I may as well stick them all into a post of their own and have the creative fun of preserving them that way.”
Thus, I bring to A Delightful Glow a corner of my kitchen as it is for right now and for a while.
I’ve been asked quite a few times what the white, numbered/lettered balls are.
Decor.
That’s what they are for me.
I picked them up several years ago and just like the fun-ness of them!
You could spell things with them if you had more letters. Which I don’t. So I don’t spell things.
I just use them as an interesting and contrasting twist for decor.
They were piled in a bowl in my china cupboard for a long time and then I moved them out to the kitchen and they’ve been residing there now for quite a while.
One fun way I’ve used them was in a table centerpiece. Soon after I got them, I had a welcome party for my new sis-in-law and I had the right letters to use for her initials in the centerpiece.
I use the “J” at Easter and Christmas sometimes to stand for Jesus.
But mostly, I’ve just used them as a grouping and explained to people that ask that they’re just round, white, porcelain balls with really no great purpose other than this homemaker likes them and likes to have them rolling around for decor!
Have a cheery day!

I love your little corner and the white balls with letters are very whimsical!
I’ve been loving my little corner, too. And I’m always all about whimsical! 🙂 I’ve always loved stories with a touch of whimsy. Plus, whimsy is just a fun word!!
This is cute! I like rearranging things on my counter, too! I recently picked up some new canisters at Goodwill and they’ve brought a smile to my face every time I see them. Thanks for linking up to Motivational Monday!
Thanks! So many small details of life that we don’t NEED, but they are certainly enjoyed by me!
It is fun to have something that brings a smile to your face~enjoy your canisters!
Thanks for the linkup!
In my opinion that is what decor is all about – creating a space you love that brings a smile to your face! If it includes white porcelain balls with numbers and letters on them – embrace it! (I have those balls too 😀 )
