My books and yarn!
While Matthew and Renae were gone to Haiti, {see Monday’s post if you missed it} I pulled out the Thornton W. Burgess books and Tucker and I read The Adventures of Reddy Fox and The Adventures of Johnny Chuck.
My Grandmother had the Old Mother West Wind books in hardback when I was growing up and we loved reading them.
The Merry Little Breezes ~ Peter Rabbit ~ Bobby Coon ~ Jimmy Skunk ~ Jolly Round Red Mr. Sun ~ The Purple Hills ~
And this quote from one of the books ~
Home, no matter where it be,
Or be it big or small,
Is just the one place in the world
That dearest is of all.
~ Thornton W. Burgess
I love these stories and the way they enchant and captivate all the while instilling good character lessons and manners and life lessons.
My dishcloths and yarn are all about pink right now. I’ve added Valentine touches around my house and I’m just in pink mode! It’s fun! And cheery. Always good things.
I’ve wanted to read For the Love by Jen Hatmaker for a while. I also discovered a bit back that Richard Paul Evans had a new book, The Mistletoe Inn, and I put it on my to-read list.
I requested both from the library and was glad when the text came across my phone screen that my requested items were available to pick up!
I finished reading Flash last week. It is most-certainly-definitely on my favorite book list. It was just wonderful.
What are you reading or working on?
And another great quote from a very great character to end on!
Sage advice from Winnie-the-Pooh ~
“When you go after honey with a balloon, the great thing is not to let the bees know you’re coming.”
Oh, and there is a flexi giveaway in yesterday’s post! Go over and enter if you haven’t!
Linking up with Ginny and Frontier Dreams.

I just finished For the Love – the last couple of chapters were my favorites 🙂
I just started, so will be fun to read them!
I just bought a lovely old version of The Burgess Bird Book this week and it feels so wonderful in the hands with its soft fingered pages! We will be using it for school next year in first grade but we’ve read some of it already this year and it’s lovely.
Your pink is great, I’ve added red mainly because that’s what I have more of but here comes valentines! I can hardly believe January is nearly through!
The Burgess Bird book sounds lovely! How fun!
I like red mixed in with pink. Red is my favorite color.
valentines is sneaking up on us! 🙂 cute dishcloths!
Thanks! 🙂
I’m knitting socks again. I love your pink yarn photo with the needles.. So crisp and clean
I’ve never made socks. I love some of the yarn people use for them. So pretty!
Thank-you! I enjoy taking pictures. Up close photos of inanimate objects are fun to shoot!
