Today. Yarn Along!
I finished this dishcloth. Almost. The last stitch is waiting for me to cut the yarn and tie it off.
I haven’t progressed a bit on the next leaf I have started.
I will blame it on books and myriad of other things that have been happening.
The long evenings are cozy and this past week has been a great book week!
I had the new Mitford book to read! It was so good! I just loved it. There were several references in it from characters in past books that I loved. And the way the story emerged and Jan Karon tied things together ~ well, I just thought she did a superb job!
Renae works on her weaving a little bit everyday, unless there is absolutely no time. It doesn’t look much different, but we KNOW…..slowly, but surely!!!
She made a cute necklace from pumpkin and gourd seeds one afternoon! Too fun!
All the books in the above pictures, I have started. I did finish Come Rain or Come Shine. Close to finished with another couple of them.
The Modern Mrs. Darcy made a button with this quote on it and I saw it on fb. I shared it on my fb page. Love the quote!
The Inspired Room by Melissa Micheals arrived Monday evening! It was a larger size than I was expecting! I have already browsed through it some. Hop over here to see my recent Inspired Room post.
Family Circus books! My kid pick this week!
My brother and I collected Family Circus books when we were kids. Well, mostly me. But I persuaded him to share in the cost on a few and he got to have his name inside the cover along with mine! Score!! How can you resist a deal like that! {I was a bossy big sister.} {I even let him come over sometimes now that we’re “grown up” and read them. 😉 😉 }
We did have a lot of fun reading Family Circus. We also had some Archie comic books we thought were fantastic.
I still love the Family Circus and my kiddos have enjoyed them as well. Along with some of our old Archie comics, too.

Family Circus! LOVE! I forgot about them…I think those would be perfect for my kids!
The Family Circus is so real, yet so sweet too! I think they are refreshing.
I also liked and do like Hi and Lois. I always liked the twins and Trixie.
Lots of projects…and books! I have a ton of books to read…and I start many….but just haven’t been in a reading mood…
I think activities can go in cycles. At least for me! I do read almost everyday at this point in my life. I had some years, when my kids were small that most of my reading was reading children’s books to them! 🙂
Wow, what fantastic pictures! Love the way you display your books! Happy Knitting & Reading!!!
Thank-you!
Taking pretty pictures of inanimate objects is another favorite of mine! 🙂
I love your Family Circus collection.
I must read the new Jan Karon book! I’ve seen it and I keep forgetting about it.
You must read Come Rain or Come Shine! It is the best yet. I loved it. There are a couple of scenes that I thought were so sweet and summed up realities in life so well and brought together the history from the other books. There is a Bible verse that really stood out to me as well. Such a good read.
I saw it earlier before it was released. Then I had forgotten about it. Last week it was in a fellow Yarn Along post that I popped into and reminded me I wanted to read it!
Reading about the Family Circus books made me smile.
Lots of memories! 🙂
Love Family Circus! Thanks for sharing.
They are so sweet and fun! Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you get more knitting time this week coming up. I read the first two in the series and I wonder why I stopped. I’ll have to re read the first two and then proceed.
I love Jan Karon’s books. You will have your book supply stocked for a bit if you read the series. They are fun!
