It’s the day before Thanksgiving! My sister and her family are here visiting.
Let’s have a quick giveaway!
I’m going to giveaway this set of leaves I knitted. It will inspire me to knit some more. That may not happen until at least January! The leaves are fun to make.
My mother has knitted up a bunch and she sent me some with my sister.
Enter on the Rafflecopter below if you would like a chance to win these five leaves!
Hop over to this post for a link to the pattern for these leaves, if you’d like to make your own.
Enter here! Then scroll on down to talk books! Oh, and I’m talking about my paper flowers in the bottom of the post, too.
THOMAS!!!
My kids’ pick for this week. Oh, I love Thomas! You can find me reminiscing about Thomas in this post from the past.
This was such a fun book. It has shaped, fold-out pages that tell the story. There’s George the Steamroller!
I’ve been reading this book.
Already There.
The author is my most favorite ever. I love her dearly. My daughter wrote this book. She has spent a lot of time on it. Editing and printing and editing some more. My mother/her grandmother edited it for her, too.
Lots of love poured into these pages! So fun!
Another of my current reads. I spied this book on a fellow Yarn-Alonger’s blogpost. It is a good read. I am really enjoying it and anxious to find out how it ends.
These are the beautiful leaves my Mother knitted for me. THANK-YOU Mother!!!! I love them. SO MUCH.
A little more progress on my dishcloth. I knitted away one evening while my sister and I chatted. We’ve been crafting some too and that is lots of fun!
If you’d like to purchase some paper flowers to use on top of packages, leave a comment or message me with the email me button in my sidebar. You can see the paper flowers over in this post and this one. The first post has a tutorial on how to make them. They are easy! However, if you’d rather buy a few, I’d be happy to send some your way. They are 6 for $10 including shipping.
Thanksgiving tomorrow! May your day be blessed.

Crazy for that leaf garland especially!
I know. I love it!
Such a cheery dishcloth colour.
Wonderful leaf garland.
Thanks! I love the leaf garland.
love all the leaves! and your mother knit up some really cute colors!
I know! She did! I love them. She was using up leftover yarn on some of them.
Ohh! Love these leaves! Such a perfect project for fall – and so quick to make. Also great for yarn leftovers!
Yes! My mother used yarn leftovers for some of the one she made.
Before I had kids I used to knit. I’d love to learn to crochet too!
I don’t crochet. My daughter can do both!
those leaves are so adorable!
Thanks! 🙂
These are so cute! I’d love to learn how to crochet.
I don’t crochet. My daughter can knit and crochet, though!
i love the dishcloth cotton, but i have to say that that is trevor the traction engine here in the uk.
How fun to hear your name for Thomas! 🙂
I can crochet a sashay scarf if I have the sashay yarn but I cannot knit or crochet to save a life.
These are super cool. Thank you.
I can knit and crochet, it really helps to relax and relieve stress!!
It is relaxing!
these are soooo cute!
I love crocheting, but I’m still a newbie.
I’m not an expert at all when it comes to knitting. But I enjoy it and doing is learning!
my mother tried but i am left handed wish i could have learned
I knit a little. Nothing really hard. I’ve not knitted in a few years so I’m a little rusty.
I’m sure if you decide to pick it up again, the rust will rub right off! 🙂
I tried to learn to knit in my 20s, but never got the hang of it. A friend of mine at that time used to knit a lot. But I just felt like I was all thumbs! I have a lot of respect for anyone who can do it well!
I felt like all thumbs too, when I started. My mother taught me and she kept encouraging me to keep trying as I bumbled my way through my first dishcloth! 🙂
I have tried to knit scarves in the past but it is just too difficult to get them to look okay.
I would love to learn to either crochet or knit. kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
Go for it!
It’s been a while since I have. I’d like to get started again.
I never had the patience to do things like this, but I do appreciate homemade items!
I knew how to crochet a bit when I was younger and it’s something that I would really love to learn how to do!
I would love to win these beautiful autumn leaves. too!
Thank You for the chance
I dont know how to knit. I really want to learn though. I love your Autumn Leaves. They’d be so pretty in a centerpiece. Thank you for the chance 🙂
Just like anything it takes a bit of doing and practice and learning, but knitting is fun!
I use to crotchet a little bit when I was in high school, but I haven’t done it in years.
