I walked away from my mixer.
Not always the smartest thing for a cook to do.
But then I’m far from the smartest.
Fact is, I’m pretty simple.
I knew that my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe was a big one.
I knew it filled the mixer up pretty good.
But the dough needed to mix a little.
And I’m probably at the top of the class when it comes to making a mess in the kitchen or not going by-the-book.
But, I love to bake.
I’ve been baking for over twenty years, I realized the other day.
I turned around and noticed that, “Yes indeed! The recipe of dough was a big one!” and it was trying to escape out the side of my mixing bowl.
I was not of the mind to let any chocolate chip cookie dough get away, because, you know chocolate chip cookie dough, people!
I crossed the kitchen and turned the mixer handle to the off position.
And I noticed the dough making a little mountain at the side of the bowl and how truly beautiful it was.
I returned to the other side of the kitchen to find one of my other loves ~ my camera. It is in arms reach much of the time. I’d wear it on my hip if it wasn’t so cumbersome.
And thus, this is the blog post one ends up with when cookie dough and a Kitchen Aid catches one’s eye.
