What a wonderful day! I’ve never seen this one before! ~ Maya Angelou
I shared this quote in my Instagram space about a month ago. I love it and the words lingered in my mind. A few days ago, I pulled out my box of gold letters and sorted through and spelled out this beautiful thought across my blush letterboard.
•Every Good Day•
I’ve embraced these three words for quite a long time and this exclamation and sentiment about a wonderful day captures the heart of this so well.
Here’s the thing. Eeyore from Winnie-the-Pooh totally makes me giggle. For we all know a few people who live out life with an Eeyore attitude. And while he makes me laugh, his attitude isn’t really one I want to adopt. Oh, I fall into Eeyorism. Yes ma’am, I do. But I want to aspire and aim to embrace every good day! To hug each new day that I’ve never seen before. Because life does hit hard and it does drag me down and if I don’t grapple to give gratitude for all that is lovely, I’ll find myself bemoaning the lost tail and gloomy weather until that’s all that’s left.
Life moves along like a moving sidewalk under our feet, carrying us forward. We can’t back it up. We can’t turn around and walk backwards as fast as we might try. The moving sidewalk will keep moving us right on along.
On this Saturday, here’s to embracing the lovely of everyday!
. waking up beside my man • eating raspberry scones • looking out at the skyscape this morning • fresh peaches • 2 Corinthians • watching the tractor pull from the farmyard • turning book pages • feeding the hungry washing machine • a million little things!
Many repeated, over and over. Beautiful mundane. Beautiful day. Beautiful life.
AND.
Speaking of Eeyore, is anyone else excited about the Christopher Robin movie this month?! I, for one, very much am! I’ve long loved Winnie-the-Pooh and had all-things-Pooh for my little baby people.
