And 7:15 a.m.
with 63 degrees on the thermometer
and a cool breeze.
And my white robe belted around me feels snuggly good
I’m quite content to curl my hands around my coffee mug and
watch from my backdoor porch.
I’m mostly not-a-thrill-seeker.
My adventures are better found in a lovely walk,
in a chat with a friend,
between book pages,
riding beside my farmer in the combine,
lifting my camera lens to capture a frame.
But I giggle at my daughter
my niece as they take the plunge.
A pool and pajamas
an early morning dip.
I love the everyday adventures right at home
the ideas and energy teenager people carry with them.
I chuckle inside
curl my hands tighter around coffee warmth.
They flail arms
hover above the water on tractor tire tubies, slowly easing into the cold.
They stay out longer than I imagined
then retreat to seek out the warmth radiating from my hot tub.
Oh, dear girls! Yes indeed! Live life! Love the simple. Embrace the fantastic too, by all means, but seek, seek, seek the fun, the way to splash each day with giggles. For this is the fabric of our days. Whether we prefer it in a white robe and coffee or pajamas and pools, find the moments that make your day!
