IF you HAD to choose, what category would be your favorite?
Cakes? Cookies? Pies?
Who am I kidding? Or making choose? I don’t know if I could choose myself, even if I HAD to.
Different desserts sound good at different times. And there are a plethora of things that play into what “sounds good”. What the main menu is. What dessert I’ve recently had. If I’ve had a dessert recently or if I haven’t. If it’s a snack or a dessert at the end of a meal. What my palate is hungry for. #feelingblessedbecausewehavesomanyoptions
I do really like cookies. And I am slowly getting a few of my favorite recipes posted on my blog. You can find Snickerdoodles here and Monster Cookies over here! I realized the other day that by blogging the recipes I especially love, I would end up with my own catalogue of them. I started a recipe book several years ago, of my favorites, but there are quite a few that still need added. I’m thinking having them on my blog is A-OK, because I can just print them out if I need to or if I’m away from home, but have internet access, I could look them up!
This recipe for Sugar Cookie Squares is yummy. Bar cookies are easy~faster than drop cookies and only one panful to bake. This makes a nice sized batch too. I like to use this recipe for the crust for Strawberry Pizza.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar together.
Stir in eggs, beating well.
Mix in vanilla and milk.
Add in flour, baking powder and salt.
Spread into a greased 11x15 sheet pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
Enjoy the sugar cookie aroma and buttery, soft taste!
Notes
I use this recipe for a crust for Strawberry Pizza. I put part of it in a 9x13 and the rest of it in a small sheet pan or an 8x8. It will all fit in a 9x13, but it makes it thicker than I like for the dessert pizza.

Now I’m hungry for cookies! Would you please come make me some? 🙂
We had some the other day! We woulda shared with you!
I am not a sweets-eater but these look delish – thanks for sharing.
