Rain drip, drip, drops from the sky and the eaves this morning. It sounds companionable and cozy. Gray skies hug around the house and I curl my hands around the warmth of my brightly flowered coffee mug. I sip the coffee, this brew I finally managed to make after wrangling with our Keurig a bit.
.
I’ve skimmed these verses in Psalms and turned over to this verse in Revelation.
.
Psalm 149:1,3,4
Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of the saints. Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the Lord takes delight in His people; He crowns the humble with salvation.
.
Revelation 19:6-7
Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory!
.
I am struck by the intensity of praise to the Lord in both passages. I think if I were tested in my praise passion, I might not pass when measured by these praise verses.
.
I feel this reminder as I compare myself. It isn’t pass or fail. It’s praise anyway, praise always. It’s grace amazing and grace adorning. It’s growth. Continued growth. Sometimes almost indiscernible. Other times, flourishing in a way we can’t miss.
.
So, this morning, among the raindrips and my musing about a multitude sounding like loud thunderclaps, I rejoice in a new day, I glory in His ways and I am glad to grow in praise!
.
What are you glad about today?!

Happy Friday Deborah Thanks for the wonderful reminders. Hope you have a lovely weekend. It will be cloudy here, but the days will be bright because Jesus brings sunshine into our lives.
So true! Hope your weekend is very happy! 🙂
