I came across this idea for a hot fall drink with a bit of a different twist. It was in a Martha Stewart magazine and I thought it sounded easy and fun to try. I changed it up a bit, but I really liked it.
I am not fond of pears. I think it is their grainy texture. I do think they are a beautiful fruit. Fresh or cut in half and peeled. They are pretty and appealing to my eye! Just not so tasty to my tongue. Go figure.
I do really like this Pear Cider, as I named it.
I had just as much fun taking pretty pictures of the cider, as I did making it.
I pulled out this and that and styled some different shots and kept my camera shutter, snapping. Therefore, we get lots of photos to post! 🙂
We also tried a recipe for Pumpkin Cake Pops and I took a few pictures of them, so I’m sticking a couple of those photos in this post, too.
You can search Pumpkin Cake Pops if you are now struck with the urge to have cake pops and Pear Cider! There are quite a few recipes available online.
Here’s a printout recipe for the Pear Cider, if you want to give it a try some chilly morning or tucked in with a blanket and a book some cozy evening.
Ingredients
- 32 oz. Pear Juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 whole cloves
- Pour pear juice into a saucepan and drop cinnamon sticks and cloves into juice.
- Heat over medium-high heat, bringing juice to a boil.
- Remove from heat and cover. Let steep for 15 minutes.
- Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves.
- Serve warm in pretty mugs or teacups!
- Garnish with cinnamon sticks and a bit of whipped cream, if desired.
- Sip and savor!

This sounds so good! Will have to try it. Doc just told me that cinnamon is good for me so this would be a good way to have it.
It is really good. Fun to make and easy!
Oh my stars, this looks divine! (and the photos are fantastic! Thanks for sharing such a lovely recipe and post over at Country Fair Blog Party!

Thank-you! It is very tasty!
mmm, that sounds good!
Thank-you! I think it is. I think it would be good with apple juice, too, but haven’t tried it. Pear juice can be a little hard for me to find at our local grocery, sometimes.
