I have several books to share with you as October begins. PLUS, I’ve been picking up my knitting again recently and working on a few rows here and there until I have a completed dishcloth!!! Woot! Woot! It works out well to knit while I watch a Tuesday Teaching in hope*writers or listen to a podcast.
{Total aside……….hope*writers have their doors open for new members this week if you’re interested!!! Hop over here for further details and to find out if, perhaps, this is the community you’ve been longing for! I’ve been a hope*writer member for a little over a year and a half and I appreciate the community so absolutely-very much! IF you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me and ASK away!!! I’m also an affiliate for hope*writers if you DO decide to join. Signing up through my link will bless me, and a great, big thank-you to YOU for doing this. I appreciate it!}
Back to the books I have to share!!!! Oh, I was talking knitting. I’ve been working with this navy blue yarn and it’s so pretty! I used orange yarn and then a cream yarn through the summer. With the arrival of autumn and now, October, the dark navy feels peaceful and cozy!
I’m linking up with Ginny, if you’d like to browse more posts about books and yarn!
{affiliate links included in this post! Thank-you, friends!}
I received a copy of Strong Brave Loved from Revell to review. This is Holley Gerth’s newest devotional book. I’ve long loved Holley Gerth’s encouraging words. I’ve held giveaways for some of her books in the past. If you browse my Giveaway category, you’ll find them. Even though the giveaways are over, you can still check out the books if you have not read them or they are new titles to you!
I recently won a copy of Fiercehearted by Holley Gerth. I’m excited to read it! I’ve seen the title for quite a while, but didn’t own a copy and hadn’t had a chance to read it. This devotional pairs really well with Fiercehearted. The beginning page before the introduction has a declaration of a fiercehearted woman.
There are sixty devotionals in this hardcover book. I truly like the format. Each devotional has about two pages of script followed by a short prayer. Each also begins with a Scripture. It wraps up with a question or thoughtful declaration and lined pages for journaling your heart or thoughts. Throughout the book are pages with a flower and a quote from Fiercehearted on them. This artwork adds beauty and a gentle sigh of savoring to the pages of the book!
Holley Gerth also has a new children’s board book that is absolutely adorable!!!
Today and Always, This is True, God Loves You
I don’t have pictures of it right now, but I’ll link it in the Amazon banner below.
Oh, and Hobby Lobby recently started carrying new card designs in their Holley Gerth line and they are so lovely, in my opinion!
I’m ever so excited about these new stickers from my niece! They are part of the “Little Things” collection. She draws the designs and then has them made into stickers! I love seeing what she creates. Check out her Etsy shop over here. She’ll be delighted to have you visit!
My favorite sticker sheet is the middle one! All the bookish things! A lovely cup of hot tea, pen, pencil, book/journal, ink, sandwich, and a lemonade juice box!!! What more could you ask for?! 🙂
Here’s another title I’m excited to read.
Mythical Me: Finding Freedom From Constant Comparison by Richella J. Parham
It releases October 22! You can pre-order it now!!! I recently heard Richella Parham speak. She’s an amazing speaker and is sharing a powerful message through this book. PLUS, the cover is totally stunning! The smartphone on the front shows our reflection in it………..but it is distorted!!! Isn’t that perfect for the title of the book? The mythical me I make up in my head, or wish for, is definitely not a clear image or a true reflection of who I am and who God designed me to be.
I was able to purchase an early copy at the event Richella Parham was speaking at. Bonus!!! She signed it too! I love getting to have authors sign their books. My collection of signed books is growing. I find this so fun! 🙂 We all have our things that fascinate us, don’t we?!
Perfect children’s book for autumn!!! {PLUS, pie!!!!}
Autumn is for Apple Pie
I’ve long thought this series by Wendy Dunham looked adorable! I only have the first one, but it is super fun! Check them out here!
A new board book from Gleny Nellist! God Made Me.
It’s adorable!
If you’re an IG comrade, I shared a peek inside this book in my IG stories recently. 🙂
Speaking of IG stories, I have a giveaway running in my stories right now!!! It’s for a lotion handcrafted by Cottonwood Creek Herbals. It’s only running for 24 hours, though, so you need to go right over if you want to enter!!! 🙂
I’ll be hosting a giveaway for a copy of God Made Me at the end of this month.
Hooray! ALSO. Watch for a giveaway this month for Flash, Walking with Henry, and Flash the Donkey Makes New Friends by Rachel Anne Ridge. I have signed copies to give away and I’m so excited about it!
Becoming Us is officially available now too!
This book is terrific! If you are fascinated with the Enneagram, like I am, I totally recommend picking up a copy!
If you’re brand-new to the Enneagram, or new-ISH, this book would still be one I would recommend for you.
It teaches about the different Enneagram types, as well as pointing us in the direction to understanding our spouses better……and ourselves! It points us toward appreciating the differences in each unique personality and type. It gently nudges us in the direction of how we complement each other in our different types and giftings. Becoming Us helps us recognize the strengths we bring to the table. Relationships are a very core part of life. Learning what lies behind behavior and what drives our motivations is a key factor in growing us in empathy and compassion.
While Becoming Us is written towards thriving in a Gospel-Centered marriage, I believe it contains so much wisdom and will benefit unmarried people likewise. We all have friendships and relationships in our lives! Learning to grow as people ourselves AND call out the good in others shapes our stories and days for the better.
FUN FACT: I was on the launch team for this book and I received a signed copy of Becoming Us! Woohoo! Another signed book!
NOW…………………I’d really love to hear what you’ve been reading or what new thing you’re extra excited and delighted about as October begins!
