Do you like books and parties?
I, for one, certainly do!
This led to my hosting a So Close to Amazing party!
Here’s a few pictures of the book and the food and some prizes we had!
{Before I forget, you can link up YOUR #SoClosetoAmazing posts for a couple more days right over here at the link party, in case you missed it!!}
KariAnne hosted a virtual launch party online the evening of the book’s release.
Some of the launch team members invited a few friends and hosted parties and tuned in to the virtual party.
KariAnne sent me a super fun package for the party. She sent two autographed books to give away and fun glittered, paper crowns and pinwheels and party blowers and a few other fun paper things! It was so fun to open the box!
{Obviously fun!!! I just used the word three times.}
It gave me a good excuse to take an evening with girlfriends and set up for a party……and amazing evening, of course!!!! 🙂
ALTHOUGH. As was appropriate and fitting and SO CLOSE TO AMAZING, KariAnne’s internet decided to function in less-than-amazing capacity and threw her offline and off facebook for most of the evening.
SO, KariAnne’s plans for her virtual launch party were rearranged!!! #soclose
You have to admit to the humor in it, given the title and content of the book!
KariAnne definitely handled it like a rock star and went with the laughter of the situation!
I invited a few friends and we had a great time eating and chatting and giving away prizes!
We ended up tuning it to a podcast with KariAnne Wood from earlier in the week and listened to part of it.
I’d signed up to host before my shenanigans with my ankle and I went with easy items for our snack table!
BUT, one of my very-very-very favorite parts of any party or get-together is the setting-up and making-it-pretty part.
I was tired afterward, but I still enjoyed pulling out dishes and setting up the table and snacks.
Our local Dillons has delicious muffins and I bought a few and made a “cake” of sorts with them.
I tucked in a few rose blooms for a pretty {and so easy} touch!!
We had cashews and bugles and veggies and dip for some salty and savory treats.
Look at these super-fun napkins I found at T.J. Maxx!! I was so happy!! They were amazingly perfect!!! haha!!
And I love the cute pineapple plates too! They came from Shop Sweet Lulu.
AND……….you surely couldn’t host a #SoClosetoAmazing party without a few so close moments!
I texted my friends and asked them to share a favorite bottled drink choice with me.
One of my friends mentioned she thought it would be interesting to try La Croix drinks. Ok. I like to try new things too! I’d give it a go.
NOW. Don’t ask me. ‘Cause I don’t know. I totally zoned out. I headed down an aisle at my Dillons and checked out some drinks. I spied some cans labeled Zevia and I thought, “Oh, there’s what my friend wanted to try!” I plopped them in my cart and on I went.
I have no idea what I was thinking! I had my phone. I had the text. For some reason I didn’t look at it and doublecheck the name. I’d looked the La Croix drinks up earlier online and I guess I thought the Zevia looked like what I’d seen. I DON’T KNOW. Too funny!
On the up side, I guess we got to try something new, just different than intended!
{For the record, I found the La Croix drinks later and dropped a couple off to my friend. Also, for the record I’m not over fond of either the Zevia OR the La Croix. BUT, YOU might like them!!! Pepsi. I like good ole Pepsi.}
Cheese makes such a pretty and tasty addition to a snack table. It was another of our salty/savory choices!!
I like fixing cheese trays.
These sweets were super fun to make pretty and easy-peasy since I bought them instead of baking! I love to bake, but sometimes {most of the time} I can’t do everything and I’m so glad I can grab ready-made!
Have you read So Close to Amazing yet? I’d love to hear! My post over here talks more about the book.
{I’d also love to hear about YOUR favorite ready-made, super-easy go-to treats!!!}
