Three books and two dishcloths! 🙂
Oh, and a few other book mentions if I remember!
I truly love how pretty this navy yarn looks as a dishcloth. It definitely has me thinking about wintertime and all things cozy. I must be in a navy mode because I picked up Christmas giftwrap at Wal-Mart this week and I found myself drawn toward the blues, silvers and navy, with a roll or two containing gold touches. I like it and I’m excited to see the mix all together.
Linking up with Ginny, if you want more yarn and books!

This is a neat set of books!
100 Words of Affirmation Your Wife Needs to Hear and 100 Words of Affirmation Your Husband Needs To Hear by Lisa Jacobsen and Matt Jacobsen.
I keep believing deeper and deeper in the power of affirming words and the strength offered to us through encouragement. Life-giving words matter deeply in our lives and relationships.
These books, {obviously} are geared toward our spouses and strengthening our marriages. Yet, it still is a good reminder to me to bless and encourage all the people in my life.
How do you see affirmation and encouragement making a difference in your life, marriage, or relationships?

I like the simple and artistic way these books are laid out. Each of the 100 statements are numbered throughout the book. Each one has the affirmation in larger print at the top of the page, followed by a few paragraphs with conversation or questions about the affirmation and the importance of it.
It’s a great format to make us think a bit deeper about each affirmation or subject. It’s also a great reminder that we need to repeat these affirmations often. They aren’t a one-time-checklist-there-I-did-it-sort-of-thing! 🙂
Matt and Lisa Jacobsen also have another set of books that look very good. They are titled 100 Ways to Love Your Husband and 100 Ways to Love Your Wife.
The four books would make a great set or giftset!
I received these books from Revell to review.

THIS BOOK IS ADORABLE!!!! I was delighted to review it from B&H/Lifeway. 🙂
It’s a board book with a great, big lesson about choosing cheerfulness!
It may be a board book. It may be written for children. But it’s a lesson I need reminding of daily. Sometimes hourly.
{You know those sneaky poor-me-attitudes that like to sidle in and make themselves at HOME?! Those kinds. Yeah. Those. You know the ONES. Unwelcome, Uninvited, and plain annoying. Yet, there they are.}
Scarlett’s Spectacles is a super easy reminder to usher me back on track!
Oh, and while it does have board book pages, it is a bigger size board book. Amazon gives its dimensions as 8.3 x 0.7 x 8.3 inches for all the people who can calculate and picture it in their heads. I am not one who can. Dimensions and picturing them don’t dwell in my toolkit of skills. Haha! I do much better at “seeing” the size when I look at it in a bookstore or open the package it arrived in!

This book is All The Things!
Rhyming text.
Spot-on illustrations.
Precious Protagonist.
Kind and Caring Mama.
THAT HAIR!!!!
Pink, sparkly glasses.
A life lesson for ages 0-115+.
Simple, yet so significant.
I keep offering to read it to my teenage son, to which he rolls his eyes at me and shakes his head at his middle-aged mama! Tee-hee!

LOOK!!!! Isn’t she adorable, despite choosing her grumpy glasses? 🙂

I adore this pink wallpaper!!!!

“Instead of throwing hits or fits,
When Brother got more sweets,
So pleased with any goodie,
She enjoyed the smaller treat.”

If you happen to be book shopping for Christmas, I recommend checking Scarlett’s Spectacles out! {But I’m not your boss.} 😉 {And you know the types of books YOU like.}
AND………we all know, JUST because I love something, doesn’t automatically make it for everyone! {Though I’m sure this book comes close.} 😉
In other book mentions…………….I checked A Mrs. Miracle Christmas by Debbie Macomber out of our library. It’s an easy, happy read if you’re looking for a Christmas story. We’ve really enjoyed the Mrs. Miracle Christmas movies and this new book immediately caught my eye.
I’m also currently reading and completely fascinated with The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor. I’m so intrigued by the studies showing the power a positive attitude has.
Two more mentions…………these are Kid Lit books……….if you happen to be searching for chapter book ideas for your midkids!
A friend recently recommended The Vanderbeekers to me and I loved it. I still love reading just-for-fun Kid Lit.
A similar title is The Unlikely Story of a Pig in the City by Jodi Kendall.
Both of these books have fun characters, adventures, misadventures, fun families, and happy resolutions to the problem and climax of the story!
Two of my very favorite Kid Lits from my own childhood…
{Gaze hard……it’s very dim to look that far backward…. 😉 }
Baby Island by Carol Ryrie Brink
and
All-of-a-Kind Family by Sydney Taylor.
I loved both, re-read both, and have them both still on my bookshelves!
I’d love to hear…………………what are you reading or working on AND what’s a favorite Kid Lit from your childhood?

Such a sweet board book! It may have to go on the Christmas list for my littlest girlie. Thank you for sharing!
Also- nothing nicer than to have some dishcloths tucked away for yourself OR last minute gifts. Newly made dishcloths- can’t get much better than that!
