I really do love a tea party. I hadn’t hosted one for a good while and had thought a few times that it really would be fun to have one. Well, an opportunity presented itself and I knew I really wanted to make the time and effort to do this. {Apparently, REALLY, since I used it three times in the previous sentences.}
The husband of one of the older ladies in my Bible study group, passed away the beginning of January. This big change in her life brought another change, with her decision to move to live with her daughter in the city. This means she won’t be close by anymore and won’t be at our Bible studies anymore. We are going to miss her very much. I appreciated her wisdom and her testimony and she is a great prayer warrior.
So, we had a good-bye tea party for her. It was nice to spend a few hours with her and some of her family and Bible study friends. Plus, I love setting a pretty table and using pretty dishes!
Sugar cubes! A couple of years ago, we were at a tea party with some friends and when the sugar cubes were passed, my daughter said, “Oh, they look like salt blocks that the cows lick!” She and her friends laughed and laughed about it and she and I still giggle about it and remember it whenever we pull out sugar cubes. {We get it from my family on my mother’s side. They are quite quite good at remembering funny sayings and jokes for a long time!}
My husband gave me this teacup when he was dating me! Perfect from a Kansas guy….and wheat farmer! I’ve always loved it
My mother gave me this one and it’s one of my favorites too. I like the footed design.
Mini cheeseballs~
Placing pineapple!
Thank-you for the super-fun yellow-dotted liners, Mother!
Another favorite teacup peeking out~
Salads~
Getting it all set! My girl was awesome help! {I’m sure she thinks her mother is a little harried. 🙂 } I like having single-serve salads, but it makes last minute prep time for sure!

I love teaparties! Everything looks so pretty and so good. I love how you used the yellow-dotted liners. Just the other day I thought about them and wondered if you had found a use for them. It’s always fun to see your teacups. The food looks delicious and is making me hungry! I need to get busy and have a tea party sometime soon.
I so like having stuff like the yellow liners around to pull out and use when we’re doing something. I don’t always plan the little details anymore like I used to would have and I don’t always have the availability.
Tea parties are fun!
Oh I wish I could have been there! That looks so yummy and fun 😉
LOVE LOVE LOVE the pic of the wheat tea cup – awesome lighting – get that one in the to-print folder I’ve been telling you to make!
It was fun. I liked that picture too and I do have that folder made! 🙂
