In January, at birthday time, Renae told me she had an idea. She wanted to have a couple of her friends come over, not now, but in July at her half-birthday, and celebrate then with summery things like swimming and such. That was fine with me. She began to plan and would add ideas here and there as she thought about them. She had plenty of time to think about it and get ready for it and she enjoyed it. She wanted to have cake pops for the first time and also make Oreo truffles, like she’d done around Christmas time.
She was hoping they could have a fire and sleep out on the trampoline. The weather cooperated and the girls swam and slept outside and had a fire and smores.
Another plan was to have water balloons. The girls filled them up and also thought about floating them in the pool. They looked really pretty and sort of ocean-y, bobbing around in the pool. It was rather cool!
Renae really did have a good time preparing. She decided on some decor she wanted to set up and gathered some art supplies for them to craft some projects.
She made pennants for fabric banners. I really loved how cute they looked outside and liked what she did with the globe and candles.
The cake pops were also a fun {and yummy} new venture. They were very simple to make. Renae made them for her party and then I made some soon after to give my sister-in-law for her birthday. Very fun and so pretty!
Special memories.
What fun! I love cake pops – haven’t had them for ages. So fun to see Renae’s creativity and style!
I agree! She put a good bit of time and effort and planning into it. She comes up with such cute things.
We’d had those citronella candles for a while and she had the idea to stick them into the Mason jars, which was brilliant! I’d had them outside before and the wind would blow them out sometimes. The jars protected them.
She did a great job and it looks like they had a good time. I sure do miss her!
I think they did. It was fun seeing her fix stuff and get ready. Brought back memories! Do you remember that Valentine’s Party I had in {approx} the 6th grade?
