As 2014 drew to a close, words swirled around my brain. Words that characterized events and feelings and happenings and ups and downs of my year. Words that many others could relate to, yet at the same time their 2014 was unique to them alone. And my 2014 unique to me alone. Words patchworked together, stitched and zig-zagged in an original pattern.
Time flows and flies, melting and running into the next season and year.
My pen started to scratch out these words onto paper. Words with meaning for me.
Summarizing a year into words was just a tiny skim off the top of life as it happened. Yet, underneath, so much weightiness and depth of my year as I remembered.
I jotted the alphabet along the edge of a piece of paper and started to fill in the blanks.
My God, my Father had certainly walked among each word in 2014.
And as the pages of 2015 rustle and open up, God knows what the words will be. Many of them will appear again, I think. They may describe somewhat the same scenario as in 2014 and they will also describe the new, the different, the expected and the unexpected.
