It’s Monday time! Jotting down a few things from last week. This week is going to be busy.
It is has been heavy on my mind recently to simply enjoy every single day and the everyday comforts I take for granted. I’d been working on a Daniel study earlier and then had a break from it as I worked on Children of the Day.
Daniel was taken captive as a teenager and spent most of his life in a strange country. Yet, he remained faithful to God and sought God. I’ve thought a lot about how quickly life can change and how thankful I am for so many things.
Reminding myself of these truths helps me when I hit bumps and when disappointments and discouragement show up. I had a couple of days at the end of the week where I felt discouraged and tired. I always get grumpy with myself when I lapse into these times, because I have no right compared to some of the huge circumstances that many people face. Something I am reminded of when life feels rough is how it calls me to re-recognize my dependence on God. I want to always depend on Him, but it is more real when I realize once again that I can’t do any of this on my own.
Woo-hoo! Tea syrup for the freezer. I haven’t made a big batch for a while. I kept thinking I was going to again and finally managed to achieve it last week!
Time to keep on keeping on. #latefieldworkbecauseofrainandrainandrain
Beautiful begonia~I’ve been enjoying them out by the garage.
When my sister and I were much younger than we are now, my sister worked with a gal that sold Longaberger baskets. I collected several for a few years. This is one of my favorites. I got it out recently and it has been hanging out on my kitchen counter. Matthew got me this basket for my birthday the first or second year we were married, I believe. {My Thieves room spray is peeking out.} {I’ve also been keeping my EOS lip balm, that a friend gave me for my birthday, in it.}
Schoolbooks arrived! Checking them out. Hmmm, guess that means we have to think school soon. Our summer has seemed much, much too short.
Hello tractor and disk!
Good-bye feed! We’ve had feed growing back behind our house to hold the sandy soil. My husband worked the area up last year to get rid of weeds and stickers and sandburrs and stickers and more stickers. He planted wheat in it last fall to hold the ground and then this spring he planted feed to keep the worked up area from blowing when the wind comes up. I’ve really enjoyed having it growing out there. It was really pretty. He mowed it down last week and will work it in eventually to help hold the ground. We will probably plant feed again next year and eventually hope to get grass growing in the area.
Big news last week! Lilla Rose is now accepting PayPal AND shipping internationally! Excited about these changes!
Go here and check out this recipe for Pink Lemonade Cupcakes!
In other news, I realized last week that BooMama is writing another book and I was totally excited about this piece of information!
In funny news, as my daughter and I were exiting Wal-Mart last week, we passed the freezer full of bags of ice. Right after we got past it, one of the doors opened and a bag of ice fell on the floor and the door swung shut. It was funny and one of those weird, did-that-really-happen moments. It looked like the freezer simply decided to spit a bag of ice out or that the bag of ice took on a life of its own and decided to jump out!
I have two batches of pickles almost ready to can and we have been enjoying yummy, fresh peaches.
We did some extra cleaning at the doctor’s office and Renae started a job as a mother’s helper. Talk about bringing back memories! I worked as a mother’s helper/baby-sitting/cleaning jobs for several different families when I was a teen.
Circle of life!!
Happy Monday!
