{Proverbs 3:19-22}
The Lord founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding. By His knowledge the watery depths broke open, and the clouds dripped with dew. Maintain sound wisdom and discretion. My son, don’t lose sight of them. They will be life for you and adornment for your neck.
.
MAINTAIN SOUND WISDOM AND DISCRETION.
My soul longs for this and a couple of years ago, wisdom and discernment were my strong focus with much prayer poured over them. They still often are part of my prayers.
I don’t struggle with the faithfulness on God’s part, but I do struggle with the knowing on my part if I am maintaining.
I deeply long to be grounded in my Father’s wisdom, my confidence in Christ alone. I usually lean towards self-belittlement versus oozing self-confidence.
I don’t care for SHOULD, in-your-face, my-way-is-best attitudes. I struggle with the fear of getting labeled as a know-it-all. And somewhere in there is a big ole presence called PRIDE, and I’d really, really like to evict it and grant ownership to Wisdom and Discernment instead. I’ve heard they’re much better at maintenancing property than Pride and Insecurity and Self-consciousness.
.
The Lord founded the earth by wisdom. My roses sparkle dew this morning, He dripped down. And, I think, just as He adorned the tiny rosebuds, all shimmery and splendid, He will adorn my neck with wisdom and discretion. I will keep seeking Him and praising Him for this.
After all, they are life!
And maybe, this is a tiny glimmer for my heart that maintaining does requires maintenance. Just as a rosebush requires trimming and deadheading, my life requires continual pruning and praying to promote the progress of growth and bloom the fruit of wisdom and discernment.
Hallelujah! Jesus is my Steadfast Savior.
