Yesterday afternoon, I hosted my sister-in-law and a few friends and my four little nieces, of course, to celebrate her 30th birthday. As I sliced peaches and cut the cake into squares and held cups under the ice dispenser, this cheery song popped into my head. I had not thought about it for a long time, and it seemed like the perfect tune to sing together as we gathered around my kitchen table to dig into the cake and ice cream and all the snacks!

The melody lingered for me among the cake crumbs and crumpled paper straws, long after the chatter and guests were gone.

Truth is, my soul needed this reminder. 🎶 He’s taken all my sins away! 🎶 That’s reason enough, EVERY SINGLE DAY, for me to grasp happy and wear it brightly!

When impatience pounds my countenance.
As time flies faster than I desire.
As interruptions do their interrupt-y thing.

I love what you wrote when you said, “I understand a little more every year the heart of Mary as she treasured up the moments and pondered them.” I find myself doing this SO much lately in all the little moments, and writing keeps me mindful in those moments so that I can describe them later!
