He’s Risen Indeed. {full stop}
The Love of Jesus looks like arms stretched wide, back laid bare, blood running down, thorns into scalp through tangled, matted hair.
The Love of Jesus sounds like “Not my will, but yours, Father, only protect and shield those You have given me.”
The Love of Jesus feels like complete separation from His Father. Agony of spirit and suffering of flesh.
The Love of Jesus tastes like “Drinking from this cup if it can not be removed, Father.” It’s mingled with vinegar and myrrh.
The Love of Jesus feels like His body wrapped in tomb cloths. Lying in death, in the earth, in a tomb. In death-cold silence. Waiting.
The Love of Jesus sounds like the ripping, tearing, splitting apart of the temple veil, opening wide the way to God.
The Love of Jesus looks like a stone rolled right away. An empty tomb. A risen Savior in the garden!
The Love of Jesus sounds like speaking the name of a weeping woman. Tears spilling, in anguish she cries, “They have taken my Lord and I don’t know where they have put Him.”
“Mary.” He speaks her name, love filling every letter. She raises her head in astonishment and amazement. ” Rabboni!”
Today, our Jesus speaks each of our names in delighted love.
