Gazing at the Baby in the Manger
I want to see the baby in the manger, yes, I do,
I want to gaze upon him with a child’s eyes and view,
I want to see him all wrapped up in his swaddling clothes,
I want to gaze upon his little fingers and his toes,
I want to smooth his hair, all downy, soft, and fuzzy,
I want to hold him close to me, all snug, and oh so cuddly,
I want to kiss his cheek, so soft and sweet and smooth,
I want to watch him yawn and blink and watch him stretch and move,
I want to pat his little back and smell his baby smell,
I want to see the baby who doeth all things well.
I want to see the baby, I want Him to dwell in me,
I want to see the baby for He has set me free,
I want to see the baby and be lost in child-like love,
I can’t wait to see the baby and live with Him above!

Amen! Amazing love story…isn’t it? Thanks for sharing your poem….I like it!
What a beautiful way to end my Christmas Eve Day! 🙂 You are gifted with words like your Dad! Seeing your kids with baby Jesus makes me think.. This week we “lost” him from the nativity and I asked L where baby Jesus went. He patted his heart and said,”hot hot” (for heart:). Guess he’s right.. He left the manger to live in our hearts! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
Fun to see this years pics with the poem and then go compare them to last years! Keep up the tradition 🙂
