Hello green beans, picked fresh from my mother-in-law’s garden, snapped, washed, and ready to be canned!
Hello cucumbers, also from my mother-in-law’s garden, soaking and pickling, turning into crunchy, sweet pickles ready to fill up my pantry shelves for this winter!
Hello my farmer with his tractor and disk, getting ready to head to the field.
Hello someday kitchen, waiting, waiting {somewhat} patiently for the cupboards to be installed!
Hello happy children, dragging out dolls, books, and toys for a pretend trip on an airliner complete with many destinations throughout the journey!
Hello to kiddos ready to go to swim lessons! It was a fun week, but I don’t think we will miss having to get out of the house every morning this week!
Hello acorns, stuck in the crockpot one morning before we left for swim lessons, ready to be devoured when we came home!
Hello playing outside and making race courses and running races and cuddling kittens!
Hello, Happy Birthday to our daddy and wrapping homemade presents and hiding them so he won’t see them until the proper time!
Hello last day of swimming lessons and hello water slide! Hello diving board and hello cool blue water!
Just a few of the things that happened in our week last week! Hello to a new week!
What do you have happening this week?
I’m linking up for Lisa Leonard’s Hello Monday today!
Hello, Floras, and thanks for a look into your lives. Love all the pics. Give the kiddos a hug from me and Grandpa. And if one of them is not into hugs anymore just give him a high five.
We do not ask about being into hugs or not. We just hug!!! 🙂
Wow! Acorns in the crockpot! That is amazing! Love all your canning too…. Stopping by from Hello Monday! Have a great week!
They are super easy and super yummy! My husband and daughter love baked potatoes, so I find myself making these fairly often!
Sounds like a fun busy week! And I missed your farmer’s bday again. Tell him Happy Birthday! i’m so bad with birthdays. Those acorns look awesome – wish there were some in my crockpot right now. I will have to remember that idea – how long did you cook them?
I cooked them three hours, maybe?! I wrapped them in foil and put a little water in the bottom of the crockpot and turned it on high. Love not having the oven on! It also depends on the size of your potatoes and how many you put in. I’ve done it several times recently and one of the times, they weren’t as done as I wanted. They were bigger potatoes and I had more of them in.
I think it’s hard to keep up with the birthdays of people that live close to you, let alone when it’s far away!
Oh, these pictures of your children are SSSSSSOOOOOOO
priceless! They tug at my mother heartstrings!! Precious…
every day happenings! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I know..I like normal, ordinary life. It is a huge blessing!
Your “acorns” look so yummy! I searched for the recipe, but could only come up with ACORN Squash recipes!! 🙁 NOT what I had in mind after seeing your picture! Is there a website that has the recipe?
It’s really not that much of a recipe! I just called them acorns for the fun of it because that’s what they look like! 🙂
You need 1 pound of hamburger and 4 baking potatoes. Wrap potatoes with 1/4 pound hamburger. Sprinkle with sea salt and coursely ground black pepper. Wrap in foil and bake in oven or crockpot!
Obviously, you can tweak this recipe however you want! You can do more or less hamburger on each potato and use seasoned salt or whatever you want to flavor! You can also stick a few baby carrots in beside each potato if you want to!
It is super easy…just remembering to get them in baking in time!
Hi Deborah!
Looks like a lot of fun is happening over there. Cute {and happy} kids! I’m glad someone else asked the question about the acorns because I was thinking, “You can eat ACORNS?” Heaven help me. I hopped over to thank you for your sweet note on my blog and I got a new recipe in the process. I’m going to make them tomorrow. Love it when that happens because I’m always looking for something easy & new…and delicious looking. Happy that Jill is sewing for me too!
