Hello to busy and hardly picking up my camera last week. My son played cowboy a couple of times and I did not get a picture taken of him. This week if I see him dressed up, I must stop everything and snap some pictures.
I was out of the house some everyday last week until Friday and Saturday. Somehow that affects everything else that gets done!
Hello to making apple dumplings with my daughter! She wanted to make them and it had been a while since I had. It is a recipe that I enjoy making with someone since it has several steps to it. My mother and aunt used to make apple dumplings together for our family and our cousins to devour. Hello to the apple dumplings soon disappearing!
Hello to my brother going to the doctor and having a better week! Hello to answered prayers! Hello to a God that can move mountains or cause there to be a cancellation at the doctor.
Hello to a Lego mine! Hello every week to Lego creations. Someday, I am going to miss having Lego inventions being built every week. I may even miss the Legos strewn across a little boy’s bedroom floor.
Hello to an afternoon spent with my husband on farm errands! Hello to the kiddos getting to hang out with Grandma!
Hello to dentist appointments for the kids! And an orthodontist appointment for Renae. Which was out-of-town, but included friends to ride along with us and some time spent shopping! It also included hauling a Suburban load of stuff, stuff, stuff to Goodwill. Hello to continuing to get our old farmhouse cleaned out for a final walk through and farewell sometime this fall.
Hello to remembering to listen to Odyssey on the local radio station several evenings last week! Hello to playing with our supper! Hello to happy grins!
Hello to being home on Friday and Saturday and to friends coming to stay! On Saturday afternoon I had two twelve-year olds, two nine-year olds and two one-year olds! It’s been a while since we had one-year olds around. I forget how cute and funny they are. My kiddos’ friends and their baby sister stayed with us Friday afternoon and overnight while their Dad and Mom attended a Love & Respect conference. On Saturday afternoon my friend and doctor’s-office-cleaning-partner’s little son came to stay. Both babies are cutie-patooties and very easy to take care of. And they both love to eat, so we got along terrifically!(Yes, you can take that as in, I love to eat, so the babies and I got along well. tee-hee.)
Hello to being aunt and uncle again! My husband’s youngest brother and his wife are going to have their first baby in April! We’re pretty excited. The April baby will be a great playmate for my husband’s next-to-youngest brother and his wife’s baby, who is due in the fast approaching October.(How’s that for a confusing way to write it?) We are looking forward to babies in the family again. I always said that till my kids had cousins on my husband’s side of the family, they would be old enough to baby-sit for them. 🙂 I wasn’t too far off. My husband is seven years older than his brother next to him. He has an older brother, but he hasn’t met the love of his life yet, so no cousins there!
Hello to my farmer being in the field a good bit! Hello to hoping for more rain! Hello to days flying by! Hello to a couple of windy days! Hello to cool air and having the windows open! Hello to catching some of the True Woman 12 streaming online. Go here for a little glimpse of my sister’s attendance at True Woman.
What did you find yourself doing last week?

Ah, those apple dumplings bring back good memories! And wouldn’t I love to pop a delicious bite into my mouth about right now. The highlight of my week was, of course, the opportunity to go to True Woman12 Conference. Wow! What an experience, sharing the days with 8200 women who were all there to seek the Lord. It was a blessing. Wouldn’t mind taking one last walk thru the old farmhouse myself! I’m drinking in the pic of my cute, growing-up-too-fast grandson. Love reading about your busy week.
I’m so glad you got to go to True Woman.
You need to come out and we could make dumplings and walk through the old house-not that it’s so appealing! 😉
Great memories on the apple dumplings – a little sad too – time goes so fast and things change so much.
I don’t think I will miss stepping on the legos strewn all over my girls bedroom floor but I think I WILL miss these days of lego building someday in the not-so-distant future. Time marches on so quickly!
Time does march on so quickly. The older I get the more I think that!
Ohhh, apple dumplings. I told Mr. Steady the other day I was craving them. He doesn’t particularly care for them, I think the pastry to apple ratio is a little off for him because he loves apple pie. I might have to make some soon.
I love lots of pastry with my apple, but also lots of sauce! 🙂 My husband likes to pour milk over his dumpling. I’d rather have my milk in a glass than on the dumpling.
