Three devotions I recently posted on Instagram ~
He Meets Our Needs
Water-pelted soil lies damp, deep, silent. The water-runs leave furrows and marks and the dirt, now mud-clumped, shows the etched lines left by my farmer’s implement. It contrasts beautifully against the brilliant blue this Kansas sky is so good at. It shouts silently loud to me as the wheels of my Yukon sing a silty, sandy song while I turn from my driveway.
.
“It’s a gorgeous morning, isn’t it?!” the clouds and blue and furrowed field inquire in a friendly way.
.
I nod with agreement and press the button to send my window winding down, allowing morning fresh air to waft inside.
.
I see the receding creek in my rear-view mirror. It crosses my dirt road and still carries enough water to send me circling an extra three miles around to reach my destination. But, grateful! Grateful for water and grateful for receding water and a, so-far, dry basement.
.
I think of these several lines I recently read, then sang.
.
My Lord, how full of sweet content;
I pass my years in banishment!
Where’er I dwell, I dwell with Thee,
In heaven, in earth, or on the sea.
.
To me remains nor place nor time;
My country is in every clime;
I can be calm and free from care,
On any shore, since God is there.
.
While place we seek, or place we shun,
The soul finds happiness in none;
But with God to guide our way,
Tis equal joy, to go or stay.
.
Could I be cast where Thou are not,
That were indeed a dreadful lot:
But regions none remote I call,
Secure of finding God in all. ~ Madame Guyon

Philippians 4:19 ~ And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Exceeding great and precious promises are added unto us!!!

What’s on your thankful list today, dear friends?
Jesus Fills
Nisi Dominus Frusta=Latin for: Without the Lord, Frustration
.
My Bible doesn’t promise a pain-free, problem-free, pressure-free life.
But Jesus does give peace that passes understanding, a pouring out of hearts in prayer and protection walking through the valley.
.
He offers faith to face the fear.
Forgiveness for our folly.
Friendship when forsaken.
Contented fulfilment to combat creeping frustrations.
Soothing frayed nerves in the fretting.
.
Jesus fills.
.
Without = Frustration
Within = Found and Filled
.
My Jesus. My good, good Shepherd Friend. YOUR Shepherd and Savior!

Our Hope and Salvation in Him.

Psalm 94:19 ~ When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.
