In the Dry and Dusty Seasons

In the dry and dusty seasons, when the blooms begin to fade,
And the flowers of the season begin to wilt away,
And the wind is whooping stronger, time seems a little longer,
Waiting for refreshing showers of rain.

The dust encircles round me and it oft obstructs my view,
Hiding distant landscape from my sight,
So I cling a little harder and trust my heavenly Father,
To guide my stumbling footsteps in His Light.

Oh the dust and dirt! It’s gritty! It burns my eyes and makes me sneeze.
It wears away the happy of my heart.
But my Father’s never failed me, when the wind and woes assail me.
And I know, I know! He isn’t going to start.

He will always bring refreshing. He will rescue in the storm.
He will wrap me up in refuge of His wings.
My God who sees the sparrow, Leads me when the way is narrow.
Tucks His feathers all around to keep me warm.

His faithful love is with me when my foot begins to slip,
When I am filled with cares, His comfort’s close.
The wind begins to wane and the dust to settle down,
By the power of my awesome, able God.

And the blossoms, though they’re fading, will bloom afresh again,
As the cycles of the seasons ebb and flow,
For though vision is obscured, by the drifting dust and dirt,
We will find the way will clear up once again.

We can trust our Savior Jesus and His faithful steadfast love,
He is near, so near, when we feel crushed like dust,
He directs our every step, Will catch us when we slip.
He is always, always watching over us!

For dirt and dust don’t blind Him. He’s got me in His sight.
He speaks and storms are silenced by His voice.
And the ever lengthening shadows, they really do not matter,
My Jesus Lord is Life and Truth and Light!
