Doubt.
Doubt means I’m all out.
Of trust and I’m second-guessing.
Questioning truths I know deep in my soul.
Doubt lets Satan get a foothold.
Doubt lets him throw accusations at me. He lobs them with precision.
He is evil through and through, but he is good at hitting his target.
Doubt.
Doubt may be a quiet or a loud shout.
In my ear. In my face.
Telling me I know nothing.
I have no discernment or wisdom.
I have no one on my side. I’ve got to carry it all, do it all, by myself.
Doubt.
It cozies up with fear. They dance around me wildly.
They nip and snatch and undermine.
They roar and taunt and discourage and mock and make fun of me and call me names.
They belittle. They scrutinize.
They try to become part of who I am. They are uninvited. They can not be me.
Doubt doesn’t know what I know.
Deep in the marrow of my bones.
Doubt doesn’t realize what I’m learning.
Every Scripture. Every word of truth. Every praise song.
They are building me. They are advancing me.
They are diminishing doubt.
Doubt has been given a death sentence though he does not realize it.
DOUBT. I call you out.
There is NO PLACE for you here.
You can not have my mind. You can not live inside the walls of my home. You can not pick away at my marriage. You can not have my children.
I am fighting for them. I flip through the pages of my Bible.
I land in the verses in Nehemiah that I am seeking. I’m striving to grow in seeking the Lord the way Nehemiah did.
I shake my sword of the Lord at you, Doubt. And I quote ~ Nehemiah 4:14b Don’t be afraid of them. {enemies} REMEMBER, the Lord, who is GREAT and AWESOME and fight for your brothers and your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.
Oh, I’m going to. I’m going to fight you, Doubt. And all your little demons that follow along with you.
I’m going to fight for my marriage.
I’m going to fight for my children.
I’m going to fight for my family.
I’m going to fight for my home.
I’ve been listening to Warrior and I’m going to “fall to my knees and fight like a Warrior” and “THE LION OF JUDAH is on my side”.
He wins.
You lose, Doubt!!!! You lose.
And I dance, like David before the Lord, because of it.
Hallelujah!

Hi, I’m next to you at Five Minute Friday and I am so glad to have read your post- I found it really helpful. I’m joining you in fighting against doubt, remembering that no matter what God is stronger. I love the verse from Nehemiah too.
Hello!! 🙂 Glad you stopped by!
Kelly Minter has a really good Bible study on Nehemiah. I did it a couple of years ago and really liked it.
Wow this is powerful! Great post!
