Birthday celebrations and birthday memories!
No all-out shin-digs or parties, but special lunches and celebrating that our kiddos were born! I love birthday parties and birthday bashes, but I’m not always up to the effort of anything too big. Even if I don’t always throw the parties that I’d like to in my mind, we always take time to celebrate in some way. It doesn’t take much to make a day special.
This year, Grandpa and Grandma and two of our cousins from Ohio, were here to eat and celebrate with us. This hasn’t happened often over the years, because my kiddos birthdays come around so soon after Christmas.
This year, we made a cookie pie for Renae’s birthday. It was terribly yummy! I was going to stir it up and then she decided she wanted too, and so she did!
I took some pictures and Becca was our taste tester.
One of our birthday traditions over the years~ Our Celebrate Plate! It has been fun to have!
My Girl ~
15?????? I cry foul. Can’t be.
15….there it is again. It’s saying it again. I wonder if it really knows.
This boy wanted Spiderman for his cake. I wasn’t sure I was up to the task. I had quite a few days the end of January where I didn’t feel so great. But we both worked and made it happen. He was pleased with it and I was glad. He did a good bit of it and I pitched in some, when he wanted help.
Grandma had a Lego set for him and I knew he’d know it was a Lego set just by looking at the wrapped package. So, we put together a scavenger/treasure hunt with clues to follow. At the end of the trail of twelve clues, he found his gift and tore it open! Legos!! Equates happy!
My little not-so-little man also requested butterhorns.
Spiderman cake~it was tasty!
Renae’s menu:

I can’t remember anything else from the menus. That’s what happens when my blog posts don’t get posted like I’d like!!! 🙂
That may have been all we had or not. I don’t know. I will have to ask the kiddos and update if anybody knows or can remember.
I sit here and I can’t help thinking that it will soon be time to be posting their birthdays again. SOON. That’s just how fast each year goes. {Deep breath} Just thankful for every day God gives us to live! Life truly is a gift from him.
So thankful for these kiddos. {And even for the gray hairs we always like to credit to our kiddos! Umm, maybe not for the gray hairs. 😉 }
And goodness gracious!!! Look how much they’ve grown since I started blogging!!
