Renae has been sick. She’s had the sinus/cough/sore throat/headache crud. She’s not done much of anything for about a week, and that’s not her at all.
I’m ready to have my girl-that-feels-good back.
She’s ready to feel better, too.
Being sick isn’t fun, but it does always make you appreciate feeling well!
One of Renae’s friends stopped by this week with a box of sunshine for her. A box of sunshine to brighten her day and cheer her up. It is such a fun idea and was the cutest thing!! Day brighteners are such a blessing and a hug from heaven.
It was all wrapped up in yellow paper and had yellow balloons on it.
She tore open the paper and opened the box to reveal a lot of fun, fun stuff…all in sunshine yellow!!
{The flowers were sent from Grandma to Renae earlier in the week, and have added a bright spot for her. All the “sunshine” surrounded the flowers to brighten things even more.}
Sunny socks ~
I’ve seen this idea on Pinterest and pinned it to my Gift-Giving Ideas Board a good while back, thinking it would be a fun thing to do sometime. So far I haven’t ever made it happen…
Inside the box ~
I can remember helping fix up sunshine boxes for people who were sick or dropping off items to go in a sunshine box. I remember reading stories where one of the characters receives a sunshine box full of gift items. One of my cousins had one while recovering from an injury. He had items to open each day for a certain amount of days.
I love this twist. Not only is it a sunshine box to brighten your recovery, but a BOX OF SUNSHINE!!!
So fun!
Have you ever made one or something similar?
