Much of our life isn’t all that orderly or scheduled. In part, because that’s how farming goes.
“It all depends on the weather.”
Always choices involving what the weather does. You can’t put “Disk a field” on your calendar with plans to have at it, rain or shine. Just doesn’t work if it is pouring down rain.
Back in the summer, when it did rain, 4 inches rained, if I remember correctly, we decided to head to Colorado for a few days.
We landed in Ouray, CO. Beautiful, beautiful little town, nestled among the tall, tall mountains!
I posted these “purdy” pictures of the mountains earlier.
And these are some more of the photos I took on our long-weekend-getaway.
The Aspen trees intrigue me. They are so beautiful. Slender and tall, silvery-white and graceful.
We did some hiking and jeeping and good-food eating. We saw lots of wildflowersΒ and some wildlife.
We visited Matthew’s cousin for an afternoon and did some more driving and taking in the mountain views. {The drop-offs still aren’t a favorite of mine. π }
We are glad we could grab a few days and make memories with our fast-growing-up-kiddos!
The cool air, with no humidity, is a terrifical Colorado thing!
Looks like a wonderful family trip…the kiddos seem to have had fun! I have never been to Colorado before- glad your family was able to enjoy a weekend getaway there!
It was fun. I’ve only truly visited Colorado twice. I’ve traveled through it a couple of other times.
I’m always thankful for memory making times! π
