I never really pictured doing style posts for my blog, but Renae and I have been doing some photo shoots here and there and it’s been fun! Just like categorizing my recipes, it is giving me a visual catalogue for clothes. While I’m no designer or the talented fashionista that many women are, I have always enjoyed finding clothes I like and love.
I’ve so, so often wished I could know before I add something to my wardrobe, how it’s going to turn out.
I have items I LOVE and wear for years. Items that I love the look of, but something about them just doesn’t end up working like I’d hoped. Items that end up so-so and even items that I wear, but never develop a particular fondness for.
I do also have clothes that I didn’t wear for a while and then another season finds that piece as perfect. Along with clothes that I hang on to for too long and I might as well have banished them long ago.
This is a very basic summer outfit. I really like navy and white and I really like red.
I have several knit skirts I’ve become quite fond of. They have been nice at this season in my life. They are lightweight and comfortable and it has worked well with my back issues. Some days when I don’t feel well, I am very picky about what I want to wear and some of my stuff feels too “heavy”.
Our Anchors Aweigh flexi was the August 2014 flexi-of-the-month. It was perfect for this striped shirt and red skirt ensemble. {Heehee! I crack myself up, using the word “ensemble” for my outfit.} {There is a part of me that adores elegance and a part of me that just doesn’t quite pull it off and a part of me that has some redneck. Ha!}
So, there it is! One of my summery outfits!
Do you have any summer favorites?
Linking up……..

LOVE the elbow length sleeves on your knit shirt. Starting to like knit shirts too.
Thank-you! I like that about this shirt too. The only thing with it is the material is a heavier weight, so it isn’t as cool as some. It came from Lands End a few years ago and I have it in other colors, too.
I miss you! Wish we were picking you up tomorrow, too!
I know. It would be fun.
Yet, it is special for the kiddos to be there and there’s a part of me that just wants to curl up on the couch all week next week. 🙂 I still get too tired. Hoping and praying I won’t always feel like this.
You look lovely and cool and I’m with you I like navy and white it always looks so crisp. I like knit skirts as they are so easy to wear and care for. Thanks for sharing at Good Morning Mondays. Blessings
Crisp is a great description for navy and white!
