Just popping in to put a few words out in blog land. We arrived home Tuesday evening. Once again we traveled safely back and forth over all those miles and highways between Kansas and Ohio. We are thankful.
Even though our December plans have ended up completely rearranged, we were glad we could reschedule and be at my Grandma’s funeral. My dad only has one brother and he and his wife never were blessed with children. My aunt died thirteen years ago from cancer. So, there’s not very many of us on that side of the family and I was glad to be there with my dad and mom.
We celebrated Christmas with my family while we were there. The timing was too close for it to make any sense to go and come home and turn around and go back again. It just involves too much time and gas and too many miles!
It all worked out. Life is that way.
Sometimes I stress and try to make things happen according to my schedule, but really, I am not in control and things do always work out.
Renae was able to get my Mom’s decorations out and help decorate the house. That was fun and not something that normally happens. It’s usually done when we get there.
My parents had been very busy moving and taking care of my Grandma right before she died, so their daily normal was not happening. And they’ve been remodeling their kitchen, so Mother’s house had been rather rearranged too! The kitchen had reached the almost finished point, right before Grandma passed away. Mother and two of my nieces had gotten the cupboards wiped out and things put back in them. They still needed organized, but at least the kitchen was usable and things put away before we all arrived from Kansas.
The next couple of weeks will keep us busy as well, I think. We brought home some things from my Grandma and Christmas gifts, so we’ve had general putting away and unpacking. This always makes me want to reorganize spaces while I’m at it. I seem obsessed with feeling compelled and inspired to do more projects and organization, that don’t have to be done right now, when I’m already busy. 🙂 I think it is an inspiration type thing. I’ve noticed that~when I get on a roll, I keep having ideas and motivation. Other times, NO inspiration whatsoever.
We have Christmas get togethers here and baby nieces to hug and hold.
I’m planning on some down time, but as we just experienced in the last couple of weeks, plans have a way of changing!! I still have lots of posts I’d like to blog. I may spend some extra time catching up on posts or I may just take a break. I’ll just see how it plays out.
I wanted to show you this pillow that my sister gave to Matthew & I for a Christmas present.
She gave one to my dad and Mom too, with their last name and wedding year.
They are so fun! You can hop over here to her blog and contact her to special order one for yourself or for a gift.
It was a really fun Christmas gift to receive. I’m loving it.
And go check out her facebook page over here.
She has lots of fun and cool projects happening.
She has some other really fun pillows. Another favorite is the name of your city and state with the latitude and longitude as well.
Pop over to her post here…
