Eating Waffles. Taking a Walk. Spending time with my son. I like this.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of eating waffles for breakfast with my little man and having him accompany me on a walk.
Waffles are his breakfast of choice. With peanut butter and syrup.
And apple juice to drink.
He is usually ready to eat as soon as he wakes up.
So, we ate waffles. Then I invited him to go on a walk with me. He agreed and decided to take his bike along.
Sprocket decided to go too. He always decides to go, unless somehow he totally misses the fact that we are going on a walk.
So away we went.
I think it’s much more fun to have company on a walk compared to going by myself.
On the way back, he decided he was tired of riding his bike, so he pushed his bike and walked beside me and chattered to me. Sweet Memories for me!
He also found a treasure on our return walk.
That is a big rock! It was residing in the road, probably waiting for a little boy to find it and take it home.
Sometimes I wish I could better recapture the innocence and attention of childhood for my own soul. I am not surprised that the Good Shepherd tells us to become like little children.
And last, but not least, I give you…Sprocket!! Ready to rest in the shade after the exhausting work of staying ahead, in front, at the lead, of his people at ALL TIMES!!

I love to fix waffles for cuties for breakfast! And I love to listen to their chatter on a one-on-one basis when they just say what they are feeling and thinking. Give that little man a hug from me.
