The last Saturday of August! What are you looking forward to settling into in September? Seems most of us with school kids are back to the school schedule, routine, or possibly, grind?! 😉 My homeschool, public school, and private school friends are all back to it! Tucker is working back into a school routine for his junior year! Unbelievable…….yet pretty great in many ways as well!
I always try to hang onto summer……..it slips away too quickly Every Single Year, repeatedly! Yet, I welcome cooler air, seventy degree days and all the textures, colors and pumpkins of autumn!
Give me a good book at any season, but something about the coziness of fall seems especially fitting for curling up with a blanket, a hot mug, and a brand-new cover to open!
I have a review for you today for this lovely book! Back Roads to Belonging by Kristen Strong. You’ll find her website here and her blog is called Chasing Blue Skies.
I received a copy of this book to review from Revell and all opinions are 100% my own!

The byline of this book says: Unexpected Paths to Finding Your Place and Your People. Kristen shares her stories and all she’s learned over the years about finding friendship and a place of belonging wherever life takes you. Married to an Air Force veteran, she’s packed up and moved around the country multiple times, as well as across the ocean.
I truly love this book. Kristen shares her words in a companionable, friendly way that found me wanting to meet up for coffee and a good chat!
Two features I especially love about the book are the Belonging Blessings and the Traveling Companions.
Each chapter ends with a blessing for belonging. They could easily be turned around and voiced as prayers.
Each chapter also contains a short excerpt from a Bible character, a friend of Kristen’s or Kristen’s own story highlighting a lesson or inspiration they’ve learned along the way.
The first section of the book is labeled Wandering and the second part is Finding.
In the Wandering, we follow paths and learn and begin to notice the belonging we find along our backroads.
In Finding, we begin exploring the application of living out life in our places of belonging, during times of constants and times of change.
And woven into all of it, is the presence of Christ and leaning into Him for true belonging and whatever role, place, and people He has for us.
If you’ve ever felt alone, ever questioned how to invite someone new in, or simply wanted to pursue deeper relationships, grab a copy of Back Roads to Belonging!

I have an adorable children’s book for you today, too!
When I Pray For You by Matthew Paul Turner
I love the prayer and words poured out into this book. It is an amazing message and prayer to read over your children again and again!
It is currently on sale at Amazon for $4.63, which is a rockin’ deal!
It shares a powerful message and the pictures are so fun! It would make a wonderful gift for your littles, for nieces and nephews, grandkids, tucked into a baby shower gift, Christmas, or any other occasion! 😊
Check it out if interested, because Amazon prices are always changing! A great price to celebrate the book’s six-month birthday!

A quick peek inside!!!

I love the way the book flips sideways for this picture and pagespread!

Have I ever mentioned I love children’s books that rhyme?! 😉
A wonderful Labor Day weekend to you, friends! May it include relaxation, recreation, and a good book to read!
