The air is chill, with a bite, today and I’m happy to hurry in out of this wintertime wind. The glorious light and sunshine against blue sky do their part in making up for it.
As my tires hummed along pavement in the direction of home, after I’d rolled my cart around Walmart aisles gathering potatoes and oranges and cheese and Ziploc bags and shampoo and various groceries, I found myself thinking about all the people and stories found in the Bible alone and the little bits and assorted details of information shared with us about their lives. There are many stories where I would like to know more or ask questions to fill in what I consider a gap. There are people in the Bible who only have a line or two, or who show up and then abruptly exit with no further ado. Me? I’m curious to sometimes know the ending!
I thought these thoughts on this Thursday, and I pondered this question.
What Bible person {or persons} do you think of as one of the most righteous or blameless people?
{Besides Jesus, of course!}
One you want as a role model?
To press into living a life of devotion to God?
Of seeking Him in all our ways?
A few names ran through my head and I’m curious to know who you think of or resonate with!
{I’m so glad the Bible shares glimpses of wholehearted devotion and righteousness, as well as mistakes made and forgiveness sought.}
