Right now Reading list:
Grace For the Good Girl by Emily P. Freeman
Rhinestone Jesus by Kristen Welch {You’ll find her blogging over at We are THAT Family.}
Bittersweet E-book
And reading a bit in these two that I started a long time ago ~
{I really like them both. I just tend to start books sometimes and then lay them aside and get started reading something else. Part of it is when I have library books that I need to read and return. The Life-Giving Home has been fun to read through slowly because each chapter highlights a month of the year. I’m into the fall months and it is sounding cozy, despite my fingers still clutching summer’s coat tails. I do plan to do some cleaning and dusting and pull out some pumpkins and fall decor as September begins. 🙂 }
One in a Million by Priscilla Shirer
Finished:
The Walk by Richard Paul Evans
I pretty much blew through this book. It’s sad. But, boy it inspires and made me think and say thank-you and ONCE AGAIN know that each day is irreplaceable.
Alan’s wife dies and he pretty much loses everything. {This isn’t a spoiler because the book jacket tells you this.} He sets out on a walk. A LONG walk. He heads from Seattle, WA to Key West, FL.
This is the first in a series.
I found them on the library shelf and was trying to figure out the order they went in.
I didn’t manage to figure it out until I got home. {Not the brightest bulb or the shiniest coin or numerous other cliche sayings that mean I’M A LITTLE SLOW.}
Low and behold, I checked out the last three books! Haha!
I was back in town the next day to take my man’s Mom in for her cataract surgery. SO, I dropped by the library and found The Walk, the first book of the series. The second one was checked out, so now I wait. I should be in town again soon and I hope to find it on the shelf waiting for me!!
Have you read this series? They are page turners and so easy to read.
I knitted a bit this week.
I also found some linen at a shop while we were visiting my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. I want to start a cross stitch project. I haven’t done counted cross stitch for years and it sounds fun to do it again.
I’m telling myself I need to finish a couple of my knitting projects before I start in. But part of me wants to jump in!! We’ll see which side wins out. 🙂
KID PICK:
This was a fun favorite from Usborne around our house. It has its own little built-in clock to learn and practice time-telling!
Poppy is learning to tell time in the story. They feed their animals and go about their chores and errands, all the while learning about time. And as you read, you can learn along with them! Fun, fun!
A while back we started trying to go around our table taking turns saying the prayer before a meal. As you can imagine, it was quite easy to forget whose turn it was. My son had the brilliant idea to make a little note stating, “It’s Your Turn” and pass this along. Well, that helped us remember. Then with family visiting and summer crazies, I tucked the note in a drawer. I kept thinking I’d take time to craft a card to use as our reminder. I finally did it. I had some stickers and I loved the description of “Happily Grateful”. We don’t always feel this way, but I love the reminder!

I say definitely start another project! Life is short and the thrill of starting something is a feeling that is wonderful 🙂
I love your advice!! 🙂 It is a happy thing to start a new project.
