Last week was an on-the-go week for us. I rode along on a couple of farm trips with Matthew. One of them took us down south and we encountered this herd of buffalo.
And you know, according to the wise advice of Roger Miller, “You can’t rollerskate in a buffalo herd.” We didn’t have our rollerskates with us, so I’m glad we didn’t need them.
You CAN drive through a buffalo herd, which we did for a few miles.
You can’t rollerskate in a buffalo herd and I don’t think you would want to hit a buffalo with your moving vehicle either. Interesting beasts and interesting to think about how the plains were dotted and filled with numbers of these creatures in years past. Quite a sight it must have been! It was fascinating to see them as we wended our way along.
You can’t rollerskate in a buffalo herd, but you can snap pictures of them. Thankfully, they didn’t stampede. I’m quite sure rollerskating in a stampeding buffalo herd would definitely be on the can’t-do list. Hop over here to hear Roger Miller!

Ha! Me too! Somehow I doubt the compatibility of dirt roads and rollerskates, especially with a buffalo herd thrown in too!
